I got the kit as a gift, I am a professional builder/plumber/electrician and mechanic and I use the tools almost every day, and have for a few years (Since they came out). They are some of the best power tools I have ever used. The batteries are VERY well made, last a LONG time, and the tools have the same warranty as Milwaukee. They are coming out with new tools all thew time and I absolutely recommend them.

I used the one handed reciprocating saw for the first time today and it quickly let the smoke out. I was cutting up some pallets and doing some trimming with my Ryobi and I decided to try out the Kobalt one handed reciprocating saw. I am sure the fullsize reciprocating saw from Kobalt is good, but this one was pretty gutless and after what didn't seem like much cutting it had gone though 1/2 of a 4 ah pack and started stinking, then it started smoking. The whole tool including the output shaft was very hot. This surprised me because I have had such good luck abusing the cheap Ryobi P519 reciprocating saw. What also surprised me was how energy hungry this little brushless reciprocating saw is. (Prior to letting the smoke out)

Kobalt is the only brand where you can buy a 6 piece brushless kit for 200$ They are in a class of one. Even at 299 you can't find a brushless kit that comes close. I picked this kit up a couple of weeks ago and it works great. The right side saw works great and I can still look at it on the left easily or the right and it doesn't shoot near as much crap on you while you cut. Then when you add the fact a 6.5 inch blade can cut as deep as a 7 1/4 blade it's amazing. I have a Ridgid reciprocating saw and I haven't used it since I got the one hander. Cutting Palms leaves on a ladder is so much easier with it. I did a home remodeling project this week and all the tools worked flawlessly. I put one of the belt hooks on the light so I have my hands free when I walk the dogs at night and it works great. both the drill driver and impact driver are very powerful yet easy to operate at slow speeds putting in small screws. I could not be happier with this kit. The craziest part is I can use it for a year and if I decide I want to go dewalt, milwaukee, or makita, I can just return it for a full refund. If I don't have any problems I'm sure I will keep this kit and continue to add to my collection.

The Ryobi is a blade left circular saw. The kobalt is a blade right circular saw. Thanks for pointing that out didn’t realize that when I was first looking at it. Also VCG construction did a video where they burned up the hacksaw. Which was surprising. I expected kobalt to do better. And the reason kobalt is 24v is because they didn’t want to pay royalties to Milwaukee for having 20v on the tools. So everyone that says 20v on the tools has to pay Milwaukee for that. Which was brilliant on Milwaukee’s part. Great video!!

I have a Kobalt drill driver, impact driver, and flashlight - all found on a clearance shelf at my local Lowe's for crazy cheap right after I bought my house. I paid maybe $35 for the drivers and around $15 for the light. I guess they were updating the model line or something? They're already brushless and variable speed, so I don't know what they would have added. Two and a half years on, they're still working fine, but it's not like they get a ton of use.

Having seen that Lowes seem to be running Kobal Tools out in favour of Craftsman tools over the last couple of visits to Florida I was somewhat disappointed. I like Kobal tools in general and have bought quite a few to bring home. The only thing that I broke was one in the set of "Picks", and Lowes exchanged that without question 6 months later.Happy New Year Dave from the UK. Keep up the good work.Tony.

If the drill is triple gear reduced it'll pull your arm right out of the socket if your bit bites. That handle will keep that from happening in plate steel. If you're going to do a tool comparison then it's fair to mention a price point. I have both brands of tools. When I worked in the automotive business I'd only buy top shelf tools that would put up all day every day. now that I'm retired and these tools are coming to the end of their lives, I'm replacing them with Kobalt tools. They're amazingly well built and you just can't beat the price point. They do everything I ask them to do all the time. I know guys still working in both the automotive and carpentry fields and the Kobalt tools are popping up in their tool sets. Will they perform over the long haul? We'll have to see but based on what I'm using them for around my home, my truck, my bike and my camper, I think they're going to be around for a long, long time.

They give you the side handle based on torque not whether they are hammer drill or not granted a lot of hammer drills come with them but powerful drill drivers will get you too my milwaulkee fuel drill driver also comes with one and yes the multi tool is variable speed good video

Nice kit btw the reason the drill has a handle is the amount of torque they don't break your wrist the guy had a DeWalt drill that came with a handle and I didn't have nowhere near the amount of torque these brushless drills/hammer drill's have now that's why they included the talk reach the threshold where a handle was needed and oscillating tool has a dial

Your videos are the best! Hey, can I ask you, if it is not too much trouble. I just bought a new Ryobi 18v Impact Wrench, the 1/2 inch version, non brushless. It seems to work great, but it literally throws sparks 2 to 3 inches out of the motor grill, (not the normal blue arc when motor is stopped) and smells like burnt substrate, the sparks could literally start a fire. Is that normal, did you experience the same issue? I appreciate your help, as well as your helpful videos so much.

Kobalt makes a really skookum power tool line. Hands down would pass up the new Stanley B&D Craftmans, all the cordless portercable, and def Hart for Kobalt. I always recommend them to guys just starting out and building a power tool arsenal to get started. Great line!

If you are cutting new wood 2x4 2x6 you just got you need the course 24 blade so it doesn't clog up . I wish they did away with the regular drills and just made hammer drills that do everything in one drill why bother making the regular one . People will at some point have to mount something to concrete . It's like pickup trucks they should all have spray in bed liner ,it should just be there.

Oddly power tools and ag and lawn equipment blue has always had a disadvantage for whatever reason folks pick yellow and red or green... orange does ok. But even if blue is better folks pick the other... also odd most folks pick blue as their favorite color when young. From leo side blue is most forgotten or misremembered color to.... I actually like blue but am red or green for ag stuff, and mostly black and yellow power tools. Orange for trimmers and brush cutters... but did marketing for a few years and found it odd. Now I prefer a left side blade to see but most are right side... I guess the inventor was left handed... other odd note usually its lower end saws set up with left side blade. My big circular saws are all right side blade... so there must be a reason
