I wanted to thank you for all your videos. You are a top notch knife reviewer, whom I have come to trust. I just ordered a Kershaw Natrix. All my best to you and thanks for all you do!
@williamyoung3698 ай бұрын
Update: i still occasionally EDC this Natrix for beater tasks. It has a thin handle with no liners like the Shuffle 2, but it's ergonomic for me. My blade is off center, touches the inside handle. One of the pocket clip screws is too long, so the clip wobbles, I'll file it down eventually. The blade shape is amazing & for 8cr13mov it's very sharp. I use it to open Absorb-all bags so it gets dirty, but I clean & oil it. It's good. It's one of my favorites.

Excellent vid. Liked the knife, would like it better with D2 and not a fan of the back spacer.
@huejanus55057 жыл бұрын
Well i like it. I have the link and a zt 0770, all somewhat similar in design/blade shape. I don't mind having to touch up the blade more often on the budget steels. I find with most of my edc's that i do a lot more flipping than actually using them.
@LTT.Official7 жыл бұрын
Kershaw and these other makers need to step up when it comes to steel, 8cr, aus8, 420hc is no excuse anymore. Look at the RAT1 with D2 steel, still inexpensive but miles better in terms of edge retention.
@dannyschreckengost19737 жыл бұрын
ThisIsAPrettyLongUserNameWhyTheFuckWouldHeDoThatSoThatEveryoneWouldThumbsUpIt I agree but kershaw is so good with those steel's. but their getting old. and d2 and stuff can drop in price cause of the newer steel's. and they can use that
Looks very similar to the profile of my ZT 0770CF!

After several years using Chinese steel, how much more would it cost to upgrade to AUS 10 or another easy to maintain steel?

i've carried a Kershaw Twitch 2 as my primary pocket knife for about 8 years now . great knife even if it's a little heavy . this is a good looking knife and inexpensive too . i like it . i just bought a Spyderco Resilience ( 5.04 oz ) . had the Tenacious ( 4.06 oz ) . i like both but the resilience i like better .

8Cr13MoV steel is the reason I won't buy any more budget Kershaw knives. That steel will hold an edge for about half a week. I love to sharpen, but I think a blade should keep an edge long enough to make it at least a few weeks if it's going to be practical for EDC.
@gideonstactical7 жыл бұрын
David Schiedler I do agree I want better steel now too

Strop it, it'll last weeks or months if you strop it daily/every time you use it

Depends on what you use it for. I cut very little rhinoceros hide, but a lot of bananas.

That's a swift blade right there. Off topic of this video, I've been looking at the Wolf pAX 2 by Tops Knives recently, and in your review you seemed to really like it a lot. Do you still use it often? (If you still own it).

The blade material is getting a bit marginal, especially when alternatives are considered. Still, this is better than the 3Cr Kershaw sells through Walmart.
I would rather say 'Wow, nice knife' every time I pull my knife out, than not have to sharpen it every few days. Like the 0770 that i own, it's a looker.

The grind on mine looked like it was done by a blind man. Other than that, it's a neat knife for a great price. I do wish Kershaw would move away from 8cr13mov.
@BornIn15007 жыл бұрын
Yea i have a grind issue on my Link. The edge is fine until the last 1/4" at the tip. It turns into a chisel grind where it's almost entirely on one side and looks like this... /|

$35 for 8Cr13 is a joke. $35 for AUS-8 is pushing it. If this were in the $15-$20 range, it might be slightly competitive, but when companies like Ganzo put out 440C for $17-$25, it's really hard to beat that. At the $40 range, it can't compare to Chinese titanium handled knives with bearings, either the legit ones like TwoSun and CH or even the Chris Reeve and Spyderco PM2 counterfeits. It sucks that they're counterfeits but you just can't beat full titanium handles on a PM2 clone with a titanium liner, and 9Cr18MoV on captured bearings for $38. $38! If you want $200 of style for $40, then don't get the Natrix. You're not fooling anybody with that. In fact, you're not fooling anybody with any $40 knife by an American company.

Sorry, but this guy seems to only make positive ads for knives because he was given them to "review" for free and he wants that to continue. There are glaring negatives about some of these knives that he never touches on. Why? Because it's an ad for the company. NOT a true review.
@HopsAndLead7 жыл бұрын
Speed safe on a knife that would be $200? Nope. I wish they'd just ditch the speed safe
@johnk58354 жыл бұрын
I like speedsafe, so I'm not sure why people complain about it, but it has its own feel. Having said that, I have the CF version of this exact knife and it is NOT speedsafe. It is not assisted. It just has a positive detent and smooth deployment, so I guess you could make that mistake if you're not being critical.

thanks #gideonstactical just ordered one off EBay for 36 bucks..8cr13mov is good by #Kershaw . I have a couple of others from Kershaw with the same steel & their great for my tasks..i like the tip up, reversible pocket clip on this Natrix.
