Most informative review of the Natrix out there!! Thanks J and can't wait to put it in use so that i can have an opinion of my own.

I appreciate your thoughtful video. I just got the black wash version (black on black, yes, very tacticool!) and I really enjoy it. I was waiting for the 7777 Bareknuckle but got tired of waiting and picked it up to try and maybe give as a gift if it didn't own up to expectations. I'll be keeping it!

I've had mine for over 6 years. It's a good EDC light duty tool.

When I first started the video I thought "wow, looks great, I may have to get this one". Then came its shortfalls. Still a heck of a looker. My only assisted Kershaw is an OSO Sweet that I got for like $16 shipped. That thing rockets out and nearly jumps out of your hand. It place is my bathroom knife as I thought the assisted open may come in handy for the strange tasks it may undertake. I am really liking that little Kershaw I got from you in the trade. Maybe not the most functional knife ever but I really enjoy the looks and features it has crammed into such a small package.
@JTsKnifeLife7 жыл бұрын
For reference, the OSO Sweet has better action than this one, if I remember correctly. I liked that knife quite a bit actually. Glad you like the Reverb, it's a handy one!

Thanks for sharing I just stumbled upon your channel gave you the thumb up and subscribed. I too have a lot of knives including new and old auto's that I no longer carry because I'm now retired from lawenforcememt. In the past I had some cool knives that I lost in EDC that were quite expensive and nearly impossible to replace. I've settled on Kershaw Knives because I like to use the flipper and can open and close with one hand and I don't like loosing knives over $50.00 bucks. I own several Kershaw that are all the rave and wind up just keeping them as my collection, because I want to go back to my favorite EDC the OSS. It's light, sharp, easy to open and close lightning fast with one hand and bargain prised. Thanks for the review and I'll just keep looking.

Thanks Luis, glad you found your way here and liked the video. I've got some new Kershaw stuff on the way in the next week, so keep an eye out!

Kershaw should have added some nice skeletonized liners. I love liners. I'm a liner lover :). They add a bit of strength and nice detail to a knives body. And in this case it would have remedied the sharp edges of the G10. I have this knife also, and it feels underpowered, or flimsy, if that makes sense. I hope they do a Mk 2 one day with some liners.

Are you going to pick up one of the 2018 Natrix? The copper model looks interesting.

I'm definitely getting the copper one and the Bareknuckle. Very excited about both, despite my reservations with the Natrix.

thx for the vid. my natrix when deployed has has the blade leaning to one side. when closed the centering has no problems. pls check if yours is the same. terrible QC.

I never noticed it on mine, and unfortunately I don't have it anymore. Certainly other QC issue that have been noticed though.

Just a visual observation here. I'm a fan of function & just don't see a need for the odd looking cutout in the subframe. Guess it takes some weight away & maybe that's the intent of it but, for me anyway, it's an eyesore. Great presentation as always!
@ogenmatic7 жыл бұрын
A minor suggestion: Your initial comment was on the looks of the knife. Would have been helpful to get a static visual of both sides of the knife in both the open & closed states. Thanks!
@JTsKnifeLife7 жыл бұрын
Man, you're right. Sorry about that. I get focused on what I'll be saying two or three lines ahead and forget what I'm doing with my hands and the knife. Not the first time it's been mentioned to me, so I'll definitely have to prioritize it more. Thanks for the feedback!

I own 11 knives from this group soon to be 12 when they finally release the copper handle d2 mini version oh and its on bearings!!!. Anyways just wanted to say I agree with all your points except the squeezing pinching problem. I guess I just never have a reason to squeeze a knife real hard. When I think about it most all the time I use any of my knives for anything I tend to have a pretty normal to loose grip. I guess it goes to the old saying "let the tool do the work". That's all. Great video sir!!
@JTsKnifeLife6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, and for me it's rare that I use a knife for such extended time that pinching happens to a level of real discomfort. But it's still worth noting. The model as a whole is just excellent, and I like how they keep creating new versions that are all interesting. I wonder how the XL version will be!

Great review JT! I don't think we're going to see that Goldie Locks Natrix, as KAI probably prefers the knife that's "just right" to retail for $200!! 😉

JT's Knife Life The cf model is gorgeous! It has a cobalt blue g10 with the machined carbon fiber. The blade, frame lock and clip are Ti coated. The deployment is very snappy and closes very smoothly. 👍🏽🔪

JcruzR 2 Mine is smooth too. But does yours rattle in the handle when closed?
@efcruzado6 жыл бұрын
JT's Knife Life No, it’s solid.
@efcruzado6 жыл бұрын
After watching your video on the CF Natrix, I did notice the detent was slightly loose. It wasn’t as loose a yours but yes, it wasn’t as solid as I first thought. My Steel Will Modus also has the same detent problem. Both knives do fire out very snappy, though.

I looked at this one a couple of weeks ago. To me, it felt TOO light. It also felt a little cheap, almost like it wasn't put together well. I ended up getting a Link.

Can't really disagree with that. Won't go wrong with the Link.

Really nice looking knife but I found that it felt very cheap; the fact that the blade was bent did not help, lol. The handles have a neat design, though w/ no liners per se, adds to the cheap feel. I didn't like the way the sub frame lock attached, i.e., molded to the handle rather being screw attached. Swapped it for a Ruike P841 (14c28n), $5 less, and no comparison. As another comment suggested, Kershaw could take a break w/ the a/o; more springs, torsion bars, whatever equals more points of failure.
@JTsKnifeLife7 жыл бұрын
I think you make a lot of great points here. I appreciate the comment!

Bullion Forever if I were you I might wait until the new versions come out. There are a bunch of Natrix variations on the way from Kershaw, and some are manual flippers. I'm guessing they'll be different in numerous ways, and I expect better quality across the board from them.

Sad to say but kershaw has been looking more and more like a Walmart company the past few years. I don't know why it all has to be speed safe they can do flippers.
@JTsKnifeLife7 жыл бұрын
They put out a ton of knives every year, and it seems they're content with a few misses here and there. If they did more USA made stuff besides the Launch Series autos, it would really go a long way toward bringing them back. Dividend is a solid knife I think.
@noahs.93397 жыл бұрын
totaly agree with both of you and from what i know, that is what kershaw really is whereas the ZT knives are the made in USA KAI knives.

I have disagree on looks. This knife is a perfect example of bad design. The cut out on this knife for pocket clip make this knife a no buy for me. This is not the only one but the worst. Don't know why a lot of the knife company due this ugly cut out. Screw holes all over the knife is one thing but cut out with no filler plate or something to blend it in is just ugly...
