2000-2006 Nissan Sentra Oxygen Sensor Replacement

Replacement of the upstream Oxygen sensor. Otherwise known as "Bank 1 Sensor 1" Trouble code P0133.
This is an easy repair; you can do it in 15 minutes.
Tool list:
Code reader (parts stores will read them and reset codes)
Penetrating oil
Oxygen sensor
Oxygen sensor socket (borrow from parts store) or 7/8" Crowsfoot
Breaker bar, 1/2" drive
Spark plug thread cleaner (optional) or wire brush

I did all that on my car I have a 2006 Nissan Sentra 1.8 l and I got the same code again later on and I replaced the map sensor and I'm still getting the same code check for any leaks in the hosing or anything like that nothing some suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Where did you buy the sensor at? I’ve gone to the Nissan dealer ship and they gave me the wrong part 3 times already. Can’t seem to find the right one anywhere.

Depending upon what it looks like, it may indicate other problems with the engine. Without seeing the sensor, I cannot tell you more.

Using the tool you can borrow from the parts store. It's was as simple as screwing a nut on a bolt. If your's is not coming out, then keep applying penetrating oil. Work the sensor back and forth to break the corrosion.

@@CaptainBob42 I have the special socket and breaker bar and spray, but the sensor won't budge. No room in there.

@WV591 If you apply hammer blows to the threads, you may loosen it. Put the socket on the sensor (to prevent breaking the sensor or rounding the flats), then, using a metal bar, hit the socket as close to the exhaust pipe as possible. This will transfer the vibration to the threads. Hit it from different angles. You might alternate using a torch and penetrating oil. Use a good penetrating oil, not WD-40.

This one is the upstream sensor. Downstream is under the car.

@@CaptainBob42 I can not seem to find the part for the Nissan, it seems the have a upstream o2 sensor but the threads are small in diameter then the original
