2000-2007 Mondeo boost pipe replacement

elo mate, glad you covered this pipe.. just took my mondy for an MOT and failed due to excessive smoke when it was revved to check emissions. On my 2 Ltr the smoke limit overall should be no higher than 1.27 but ended up at 2.45. So I was told its due to this pipe being split and causing more smoke than normal when revved hard to the mot test, at this point I have 3 days left before a re test for free, ordered the part from evilbay as Ford wanted £107+vat so its gone down in price over the last few years! The story before all this was told to put some treatment in it to reduce the smoke, so £15 from halfrauds £30 of V-power from shell and rag the shit outa it up some motorway trips in mexico to see if it helped.. and no fk all still the same so hence finding my pipe has split and getting it replaced. So fingers and everything else that i can cross it comes in time so i can fit it and hopefully see that its made any difference.

I had the same split a few years ago and couldn’t get a new pipe straight away. So I used the longest and thickest cable ties I had. They worked a treat. They were a temporary fix but held the pipe together until I got a new one.

Thanks for your video. Very helpful for fitting. By the way, did that ebay replacement last all right ? I bought from a didderent supplier last year in sillicone and it's just split ! So I need to get a new one.

Hi. Did u say from the egr to intercooler. I've same issue iv3 changed the boost. Turbo to intercooler, so I'm going to check this.

My TDCi 2.0 was smoking, down on power, up on fuel consumption and hesitating on throttle. Sure enough, oil on engine block and hose split just below egr valve. I cleaned it up and put duct tape around the split. Now running perfectly and awaiting new hose.

Hi folks, I have Mondeo 2002 2.0 tdci. When I changed my oil and filter I noticed that the same hose on mine is full with grease and oil. What are the negatives of leaking boost hose? Cheers

Great vid mate, mine has started to boost lag when I put my food down it's a 2.2 tdci titanium x, do you think I should have a look at this and any other tips on what this could be thanks

hey there thanks for your comment. I would definitely check the pipe I showed you in the video. check and clean EGR valve.

Just so people know this isnt a major issue you can still run with it split although it whooshis and hiccups at speed on the motorway get to about 90 and its like being on a ship hitting waves its actually quite fun. Anyway waiting for a new one for mine now. Stupid pipes.

had same with mine total lack of power rang mate up said sounds like intercooler boost pipe look for oil on engine block. Sure enough there was oil on block just behind egr valve, popped to local Ford dealer for new pipe £78.00 (ouch) now fitted now have rocket ship back lol.👅🚗💨👍

Got mine off Ebay. Twelve quid. Amazing how dealers can justify charging 400%-500% more for parts and labour than other places.

Mine was also 12 from ebay 👌 but today its decided to split the lower hose! Either that or the intercooler has a hole in! Lovely

Just Found the same problem on 56 plate 2.0 TDCI so got another one coming from ebay £15.97 with free postage

Trying like a machine to find the split in mine , can literally hear it when driving 😑
