I found that if you use a big enough C clamp to take off the ring works a lot better. Course it was trail and error but a big C clamp will make it easy.

It actually may not be the fuel pump. I have it where if it is too hot outside I get an actual vapor lock in the fuel line! Mechanics say this doesn't happen anymore but my van does it all the time.

Also depends on what level the fuel is at

If your fuel pump is weak and gets overheated it will act like it is getting vapor locked then it will start running rough and eventually die because of the heat sensor in those fuel pumps to keep it from catching on fire. I have had this problem all summer and finally figured it out yesterday that the fuel pump is getting weak and over heating.

Thank you sir, I have a question, I have a dodge grandcaravan 2000, I'm not sure if I have a fuel pump problem, but van, today, with full tank, after starting, it started stuttering and hesitating and shaking, then stopped in the middle of the road, I waited 30 min then started it and it worked fine? Van in the past had more shacking and stuttering and stopped working at some point, so I changed sparked plugs, coil pack, and got it back to working status but still would shack a light shaking for a full year, especiallywhen the AC is on, howevervan does not overhear or have AC issues., And today it stuttered and failed, What do you think, What are the odds that it is a fuel pump, My friend thinks it is a fuel pump, he is not a mechanic though.

I would agree with your friend. It sounds like you have a weak fuel pump and debris in the fuel tank. Change out fuel pump and clean tank of debris.

Yes that is leading to the wire harness that is plugged into the fuel pump

Does anyone know if a flex fuel pump can be installed on a non flex vehicle on a 98-2000 Dodge Caravan?

I would go with the stock OEM fuel pump, I listed it in the video description. It will take you to Amazon and they are under $100. Easy repair to save a bundle of cash. Thanks for watching

What questions do you have? To lower the fuel tank easier, use a transmission jack due to the top plate being wider, it is able to support the wide fuel tank easier.

You do not have to take the tank all the way out or the straps you loosen the straps enough for the tank to come down about 8 to 10 in and you can access the pump. Redo your title to replacement made way harder than it has to be
