Yes, Shonen Jump is normally that thick, if not a hint lighter. And while some people collect anything, SJ magazines are printed on cheap paper because they're supposed to be disposable like the news paper, tho you can find them at used book stores in Japan.

I didn't know Canada only had DHL available at the moment. It must suck paying custom fees so often, I have yet to pay custom fees here in America, but there is one order in the near future that I am worried about and will probably pay a fee for the first time. Keep up the great videos!

Yes Shonen Jump issues are usually that big and thick, and it's not uncommon in Japan to see the random issue left by a rubbish bin in the subway station because someone had finished reading it and didn't want to carry it for the rest of the day. Hah.

I'm glad I stopped collecting scale statues years ago and started focusing on 6 inch imports. If I didn't I'd be screwed as a Canadian. Thankfully though amiami still does offer airmai(which is wayyy cheaper than DHL) for smaller items under 8000 yen, so I can keep importing from them but sadly I'm limited only to them right now since they're the only ones offering airmail to Canada.

I'm unsure why amiami are the only ones right now but if I had to guess it's because amiami is a much bigger company than the smaller Japanese retailers and fit the criteria or can afford to pay whatever fees to offer airmail still

This Roy looks so good under the right lights, with a bit of work on angle and positioning, together with Alphonse and Edward GEM and the new Greed GEM it's a treat for the eye. The acrylic Rins you got are both so cute! I try so hard to stay away from acrylic stands but they keep making so many aesthetic variations of them these days. Luka's kimono is absolutely beautiful. Great haul! I can't believe the Fruits Basket Another volumes are so pricey now. I got mine from RightStufAnime but I'm in the US so shipping may be more for Canada.

I know your pain regarding both DHL and the disappointing Amiami cards. DHL is the only way to get packages from Japan to Australia too, and some of the things I want are almost the same price again to get them shipped! :'( and the new cards are fun but nowhere near as good as they used to be. My fridge is covered with old cards, but not with any of the comic style cards. :/

Btw, the one with gojo on cover, it’s Jump Giga, release every few month (Gojo is summer issue) and contains manga from newcomer. I have it too and it was war trying to order online. It’s actually cheap but the weight omg shipping is crazy 😅 I guess you fighting with a sniper bidder? I use fromjapan to bid in yahoo auction. What I do is set the max amount I’m willing to pay and the system will automatically bid at the very last minute with the minimum increment till someone outbid the max I set.

I kind of miss the good old days of buying off mandarake. Back in those days they were counted as second hand (and I believe they still are second hand products) so they were tax free, but these days it is all just "it is from a company so it is taxed". I think I soon need to get back to never looking at amiami to lower my expenses. I'm not sure where to put most figures these days and I should try and resell some older ones.

I know how you feel I hate the new Amiami comic cards, bring back the illustrations already. With the fruit basket books the same thing happen to me but with Yu-Gi-Oh! cards. I should've seen it coming I was in a Target in Pennsylvania after all. I go to the cards section that I still do and went crazy; I saw a combo Joey and Pegasus starter deck from the original series. I see these go for crazy $++ online so I saw that they were $20 I bought them in a hurry. But when I got home I was loving the original Red Eyes B. Dragon card illustration when I realize something weird. the text was off; the F**kin cards were in Spanish.
