Those huskers teams were so physical back then! Love it!

So cool to get to look back on this. I was there. I was in marching band from Dickson County, Tennessee and we got to march in the Fiesta Bowl parade, compete in a band competition, and we got to attend the game. We even got to open up a giant American flag across the football field. Hard to believe it’s been so many years.

“Tee Martin won’t make anyone forget about Peyton Manning “… other than Tee Martin beating Florida and winning a National Championship, I guess!! Anyway, loved watching these Nebraska teams. Worst decision ever was firing Solich for Callahan, forever abandoning what made Nebraska Nebraska.

I was a diehard Nebraska fan, but couldn't root for them after firing Solich. Nebraska was 9-3 the year he was fired. Even if he was fired for some salacious reasons (never proven) why couldn't they promote from within. The AD wanted a whole new system and it lead to the destruction of the program.

20 years later and both teams gave no idea who they are. That's what is sad about watching this game.

Just what's with the hands guy lol, kinda annoying.

Who is yelling "watch those hands" almost every play on defense?
@FishingHuntingAndBigfoot2 жыл бұрын
I think it's one of the Tennessee coaches. You can hear him in the 1997 Orange Bowl too. lol

That dude is annoying, yells it like the world's going to end if they don't watch those hands. They're really getting their money's worth with that guy.

I wanted to comment on that.

ABC put a microphone on the umpire hoping to pick up sounds from the field. Instead, all they picked up was the umpire warning the lineman on both teams not to hold on passing plays (i.e. "Watch those hands!).

Somethin' I've been wondering ever since I started watching all these Husker games from the past: Who is "bmboldt"?
@bmboldt Жыл бұрын
Just a Husker fan who used to tape a lot of games in the late 80s to early 2000s. I uploaded them so I could share them with the world.

57:15 That is not how it works. The player that recovered the ball was in the end zone. How does a commentator not know this rule? 2:20:00 R. Thomas, if you get beat by wimps, what are you?
@dadestarmysteries2552 жыл бұрын
JJ: Yeah that R Thomas guy was a moron. No one looked like wimps more than Tennessee, getting pushed around and quitting. Just ask Mcbride about the tennessee player surrendering. He says this after getting blown out only to get blown out again. Nebraska definitely put him in his place-on his back.
