2000 Silverado Y-pipe no cats

Are ur cats gutted or remove - if they are gutted I was wondering if u had check engine light on cause of the O2 sensors

The cats are completely removed. There is no check engine light on the dash but I think the previous owner did something so it wouldn't come on. Not sure what though.

Do you have any problems with the cats being cut off? Lower gas mileage, run lean, run different?

When I bought the truck it already had the cats removed with a Flowmaster series 40. All I did was remove the Flowmaster and add the Y-pipe and 6" tips. So I can't really make the comparison because I've never heard or drove the truck with the cats. Even without them the truck still runs great with no issues so far.

I’m glad you asked the 4.8 is essentially a destroked 5.3 they both share everything except pistons, heads, crank, and I believe rods

2.5" I think. It's been over a year since I had the exhaust installed so I can't really remember.

Yes, it claps, pops, and everything in between. It's not quite as bad as true duals with no cats or muffler but it's still really loud and obnoxious.
