yeah seems super weird to not compare apples to apples, I guess there wasn't a 182 in the game? A GT86 seems a weird second best though, RWD not front FWD and with substantially more power. A much more interesting comparison would have been Alex in the sim and the Sim driver in the Clio IRL, but the sim guy seemed pretty put out just being at the track so I very much doubt he would have gloved up and potentially have lost by quite a wide margin.
@msp28964 жыл бұрын
The think the simulation is unrealistically fast, there were parts the sim was flooring it in third, virtually going straight over grass verges to cut the small corners Alex in real life couldn't do this, he'd catch the first patch of grass with one side and spin out or tail slap after correcting More physics need to be involved in the game, Alex's time, in a near 16 year old car not built for a track, was phenomenal

The wheel is plenty for sim racing. Many guys who are racing with over 5k iRating are still using the logitech wheels. The bigger upgrade you need to be more competitive are decent pedals. And yeah pCars is shit. ACC and iRacing is much better for sim racing.

@@ItsDavid07 I used to have a Logitech g920 a couple of years ago I’ve upgraded to a fanatec podium the difference is incredible even when the Logitech wheel is compared to a mid range wheel like a fanatec cls the difference is still immense 100% of the guys I race with use fanatec cls,sim cubes,accufores or fanatec podiums a wheel maters the most in a sim setup
@ItsDavid074 жыл бұрын
@@hubertkam7647 I thought I was having a stroke reading that reply. Please punctuate. You're also comparing a £500 direct drive wheel to one that is effectively £130 on sale using helical gears so yeah the difference is huge. What I'm saying is that you're not really missing out on the most important feedback during sim racing which provides information as to where and how the car is reacting, you just get a much more pronounced feel and detail when using a higher end wheel. You can 100% be competitive with a G29/920 and compete with people use CLS wheels and up. You also have to factor in that people just don't have nearly £2-3k to fork out on a sim rig so going for the most cost effective way which is essentially better pedals is a much bigger upgrade than a new wheel. Brake and throttle control is just as important as the wheel itself.

A chair and a wheel on some high specked PC does not simulate a race track lap challenge scenario. Not even close. No g-forces, no risk, no nothing. You can't imagine how hard, how physically and mentally tiring it is to drive fast on a race track. You have to experience that for yourself. It looks easy, but it ain't! On a sim you only get some of the sensation, but nothing real. I've had a Logitech G27 in the past, it was really fun! But only when I went to the race track, in a real car, I realized what it actually took to drive a car fast! Great (actual) driving Alex!
