As mentioned at the start and end of this video, I really hope you guys enjoy this video because it took a lot of work and was probably the biggest project on this channel. I want you to enjoy it to its fullest extent, so it's copyrighted and doesn't make any money (it's actually blocked from being viewed in Denmark but in description I put a link for Danes lol). As a genius and masterful theologian with 30+ intelligence I got the event for the chess duel with death, it was way too close, each event was like 30% great move, 40% tied move, 30% terrible move. If you don't have the game master profession it's almost impossible to win. I survived but had to sell my daughter to live a few more years. 10/10 event, Death took away my cancer.

Bullshit. You're doing it right. In CK2 money and mercs are the meta. Levies doesn't matter, when you have 10 years of peacefull or "peacefull" money-saving. During crusade, you can siege a random duchy of the enemy in order to get a special event. Either lose a lot of prestige and gold, but get that duchy, or create a tributary of that duchy as someone from your dynasty.

Retinues, especially tribal retinues, are way better than mercenaries. They all have combat bonuses as units, but this is more late game or by empires and large kingdoms. Tribals are great because prestige-only retinues are great for war and raiding. Enough merc stacks can definitely turn a tide tho
