Well, he did end up accidentally turning Spain Finnish so it's understandable. The Turban over the helmet created a separation between the hot sun whilst crusading/marching and the top of your helmet. Helmets normally were very poorly padded in antiquity with only cloth and leather, many of them made to a custom fit to the wearer and did not accommodate for much padding. Therefore, to keep from getting cooked inside the metal bucket you're wearing on your head, a turban or cloth was worn over the helmet. Many paintings of crusaders show them in tunics with hoods, this was also a common way to achieve the same end goal; keeping your head out of the hot sun so you can, y'know, not die of a heat stroke before you died of a sword stroke. It's the same logic behind regular turbans and such worn in many desert countries today. It's better to be sweaty than to get sand blown into every crack of your clothing, or to get a vicious sunburn, or to get burned by the edge of your helmet touching your neck, etc.

@@sam-the-mothman8371 It was just a joke. People have created Mega Campaigns by taking the end game winner of HOI 4 and translating them into a new human empire in Stellaris. Thus it would be a continuation of the "story" by using the next Paradox game in linear history, by going from WW2 to space. I admit there is a large gap in technology between those two, but it's the next game in the series, and they haven't made a game about modern day yet.

"from the ashes of first world War, almost 25 years ago, emerged 3 new european Great Powers: german empire, soviet union and hungary. Both 3 are avidly looking towards the former superpower, a polish lithuanian commonwealth that is now only a bunch of loosly connected and weak countries and lands. Germany however has bigger ambitions. After huge Victory over France, it is no longer seen as a threat. Soviet russia has to show its Domination in the great steppes and West Asia. Hungary, the smallest but most advanced country of all 3 central Powers in ww1, now is only trying to survive between 2 giants. Some say that sympathies to Poland havent been entirely forgotten in hungary... In the East, Japan is striking once again at weakend from civil war china. If they succeed, they will become a Great threat to russia, puppet country under Spanish Control India and british Oceania. France still didn't forget losing brittany to UK, which is now 2nd biggest colonial power in the world. They seem too weak to do anything, surrounded by britain, Spain and German empire. A huge religious and cultural diversity in the middle East caused a collapse of New Holy Roman Empire. Speaking of religion, after USA declared indenpendence from Papal state people, ironicaly, started losing Faith in Pope and catholic church. After italian people's Republic was proclaimed, Pope fled to st. Helena Island, now serving only religious, not political purpose. United States of america was supposed to be a harmless and pacifist country spreading freedom and civil rights. But it changed after a Bloody civil war. After that USA was no longer friendly country but ruthless dictatorship. After Spain gave up louisiana So easily, a concept was Born in corrupted, facist government of US. A concept of bringing Spanish, british and other colonies together under American reign and creating United New World... Back in Europe, UK, after a Victory in ww1, aquired many colonies. It Controls all of Oceania, Some parts of Asia, South america and Canada. But is still losing a colonial race in africa and "Trade war" with Spanish empire. After they are done with France, Spanish colonies in India, africa and a military bases in finland that Would allow the british to Control unpredictable soviet union Would be easy to conquer. With Alliance with USA and collaboration with axis it's only a matter of Time till The empire on which the sun never sets will, after all theese years, be over. Spain itself remained neutral in previous world war. Positives are that they didn't take any losses, as milions of soldiers died and thousands of cities and towns were destroyed in participating countries. But there are also negatives: Spain is far less advanced than Germany, USA, UK or even France. There is still a "Trade war" with britain and native population in asian, african and finnish colonies is starting to rebel against Spanish government. Giving up louisiana wasnt a Good choice either. USA could be stopped then, but it grew stronger and stronger, now being threat to Spanish north america. An unstable Alliance with russia is also starting to weaken. The only loyal allies Spain can count on are Some of their former colonies in South america, newly formed ottoman empire in border conflict with greece and destroyed by centuries of war and 5 partitions by its hostile neighbours Poland-lithuania... There may be Some errors or mistakes, but most of them are made up to make a lore more interesting. I Realy hope someone makes a mod out of it. When i learn modding, I'll do that myself. The turban does have a tactical purpose. It keeps the crusader's helmet from getting too hot in the sun. People actually wore those on their helmets for that very reason.
