Hi🙋 have to buy a bike soon and NS200 is not an option as I am 5.4'. Please suggest which is better buy in the long run, Apache 200FI or FZ25? which is selling more? for which bike spare parts availability is easy?
@thesportztourer
@thesportztourer 6 жыл бұрын
Hi +Kesari S, Speaking about the sales numbers, Yamaha sells 15-20k FZs (all the models) in India while TVS sells 25 to 30k Apaches (including all the models). The engine on the FZ is more punchy & the FZ25 is quicker than the RTR. The FZ gives better fuel efficiency & has got a longer tank range for long rides. On the other hand the RTR 200 is more refined & comfortable. The RTR 200 shares a lot of parts with the RTR 160/180 so parts availability should not be a big concern, however I have heard spare parts issues in small cities, which is common for both Yamaha & TVS. All the best with the decision making 👍

Hi +Avinash Patil, This video might help you kzbin.info/www/bejne/rn_Cf6OfqdaFha8 I feel 90-100kmph comes effortlessly on the RTR 200 & you can cruise for hours (if roads permit) at these speeds. The wind blast is a problem after 100-110kmph which is a problem every naked bike.

Hi +Avinash Patil, The RTR 200 gets dual channel ABS, I waited 6 months for it but TVS delayed it. The FZ 25 is a very good option but misses out on ABS, same is the case with Duke 200. I am satisfied & happy with the RTR 200 in both city & highways, You can check this video for detailed information kzbin.info/www/bejne/rn_Cf6OfqdaFha8

Just a question please reply asap Is it advisable to pick up your new bike and go for a 700km trip i am planning to buy the Apache rtr200 race edition and shifting to a new place is it advicable to pick it up new and go on the ride?
@thesportztourer
@thesportztourer 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Siddharth, I did something similar with my RTR 180 and to an extent with my RTR 200. The following points should help: 1. Keep the RPM below 5500-6000 RPM. 2. A new engine will heat up and take time to settle so give it some rest after every 50-60km. 3. Be gentle with the throttle avoid quick acceleration. 4. Check the oil level, chain, tire pressure before you leave. It's hard to control and ride the motorcycle at 60-70kmph when the world is zipping pass you, so keep your calm and feel the ride. The run in period is critical so try to follow the above points. Heartily Congratulations on the RTR 200, welcome to the tribe 😊 P.S: I tried replying ASAP 😊

@thesportztourer 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Jagrit Jain, Fz 25 is the lightest motorcycle in the 250cc segment, which makes it very agile & fast accelerating machine. Again Light weight & naked motorcycles with no aid of aerodynamics from fairing makes every naked motorcycle suffer. The 200 is a bit heavy than the FZ so I never faced it at speeds below 90kmph & I rarely go above 100kmph as windblast hits you hard above triple digit speeds.

The Sportztourer thank you. I was talking about fz16, actually. I am torn between Gixxer sf and rtr200. I won't be using it for commuting. Just to enjoy motorcycling on weekends. And I am planning on touring after munching some miles and gaining some experience. Which bike according to you would be more fun to ride?

My bad! I mistook it for the FZ 25. My choice will be RTR 200 ABS, Very comfortable on long rides & munches miles effortlessly (you can check out the touring videos on this channel) plus the ABS is a boon & makes every ride safer. P.S: You won't find much difference between FZ & Gixxer.

Hello +Eshwar Kailash, I did ride for 14+hrs & covered close to 1000km in a single day. I think this is a kind of endurance run for the bike & I must say that the RTR 200 impressed me with the performance. Comparing to NS, I would say NS definitely has an advantage of the 6th gear on the open straight highway. As far as cruising speeds are of concern I would say both the bikes would be happy to cruise at 100-110kmph, as the engine on the NS isn't that refined at high RPM (despite of having a 6th gear). Both the bikes have a good punchy engine performance. The engine on the RTR is more refined while the NS is a bit more fuel efficient. Both the bikes have efficient cooling system & you won't face any over heating issues on long rides on both of these bikes. All the best with the decision making & Congratulations in advance!

tq sooooooooooooo much bro .. you cleared my doubts ✌ i have one more question ,for long rides do we need any extra maintenance like oil changing or something like that .?? how much mileage do u getting while going on 90-110 kmph range ..?? and any vibrations do u feel while doing topspeed..??
@thesportztourer
@thesportztourer 7 жыл бұрын
Glad that it helped. Under heavy riding conditions fully synthetic engine oils can easily serve the engine for 3000-4000km. For long distance touring only maintenance you have to do is chain lubrication kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5_XeKCLZbZkgtE & check the air pressure before you begin the ride. Expect the fuel efficiency to be around 35kmpl. If you are attempting highspeeds a buzz can be felt after crossing 8000/8500 RPM.

@thesportztourer
@thesportztourer 7 жыл бұрын
Hi Raj, hope your question will be helpful to others as well, here you go: Fuel: Approx Rs 5000/- (different rate in different state) Chain lube: ~200/- Toll: Rs 0/- ☺ Rs 50/- if you use the NICE road in Bengaluru. Engine oil change before such rides: ~ Rs 700/- (if done from TVS service, TVS TRU4 SYNTHETIC) So I spent around Rs 6000/- for my bike. Off course this would change for different bikes depending on their drinking habit.

@thesportztourer 6 жыл бұрын
Hi +Abhishek Pandey, Bangalore to Pune has some excellent roads stretches on which you can easily cruise at 100+kmph but the fuel efficiency will drop at those speeds & the wind blast will make you more tired. 80-90kmph cruising speed will earn you better fuel efficiency around 34-35kmpl. I changed my oil before this ride as it had already done quite a few Kms & it was an endurance run for the bike. I did a basic preparation like ensuring all the nuts & bolts are tight, chain cleaning, lubrication & slack; air pressure check. I always carry a tool kit (check out the channel you will find a separate video on it). Drink a lot of water, keep your fresh & motivated. Ride safe & all the best for your ride 👍

Hi +Abhishek Pandey, On continuous riding with 2 major breaks for food & multiple short breaks for water, fuel etc it should take somewhere in between 12 to 15hours. If you want to enjoy this ride then you can take a night hault at Kolhapur (~500km from Bangalore) & enjoy this authentic Maharastrian city with its delicious food & culture. As this city hosts the famous Mahalaxmi temple, accommodation is easy & reasonable.

Hi R S, heating on the gearbox & clutch casing is very normal & is present on every bike doing long distance riding or constant gearshifts in dense traffic situation. Change in idling RPM from 1200 to 1800 can be controlled by carburetor adjustments. I feel the heat management on the 200 is good.

Hi +surya ch, Good to read that you are gearing up for long rides 👍 Now once you start doing these rides you will notice that these rides depends more on the rider as modern day motorcycles are really good in munching miles. Some tips from my side: 1. Cover maximum distance in daylight. 2. Drink lots of water. 3. Maintain steady pace, high speeds will make you tired. 4. Stop for food at busy restaurants/dhabas as they always serve fresh food & you can always get to know new things from the local people there. 5. If you are on a unknown road don't let the fuel level drop less than half tank, refill as soon as you see a fuel pump. 6. Get proper sleep/rest before & after the ride. 7. Don't stress your self to cover distances, if you feel sleepy/tired STOP! take some rest or continue the journey next day. 8. Always think of your Parents/close ones before deciding to do a dangerous overtake. All the best for your ride 👍 Ride safe.

Don't rev too hard beyond 4k-5k RPM in lower gears when riding on rough terrain & inclines. All the best for the ride 👍 Ride safe.

Hi baleno 1010, Bangalore does have some beautiful locations to ride around in the vicinity. Pulsar 220, well that's a flamboyant warrior in the touring scenario. Leh remains in my wishlist from a long time (I wish it happens in near future) but do check out the channel for more such upcoming rides. Ride safe. Happy to see an another tourer here ☺

How is rtr 200 for long ride comfort wise? Do you feel tired or back pain while covering long distance at a stretch?
@thesportztourer
@thesportztourer 6 жыл бұрын
Comfort is excellent & so is the rider's seat. Suspension absorbs bad roads well but don't expect adventure tourer level of comfort here. You can check more about its bad road performance in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHnJmoSki56knKc & it's 2nd part.

subscribed to your channel ! you're providing very useful info and a lot of insights about the bikes which other reviewers don't do usually, it is very much appreciable.. please do the same in the future too :) did i miss a speed vs rpm test on the rtr 200 or haven't you made one ? would definitely love to see those rpms compared to other 200cc bikes which would explain the gear ratios.. 1000+ kms in a single day ? you might wanna take a look into the "iron butt association- saddle sore" ;)

Thanks alot +Monish for the appreciation. Subscription is always a motivation which boosts confidence in making more such videos. Speeds vs RPM for Apache 200 was ready to go a sometime back but some technical glitches delayed it, be assured it's coming soon. Yes 1000km in a single day, hope you enjoyed the video. Saddle sore? Ha ha let's see, I would prefer to use that fuel to explore some new place, agreed? Ride safe.

The Sportztourer may be with the iron butt certificate you'll be more popular or even try for a Limca record, gaining more subscription and views for your channel 👍
