It's nice to see someone that will tackle a project like this head on AND with clarity on what to look for to make the process go smoother. Nice Job!

Patrick, well done and way to stick with it. Not only did you help others with scarce info on the UL version of the LS430 with the soft close doors which makes for a slightly more complex project, you also saved your family hundreds of $$$ versus the dealer! Nice job!

Thanks for making this video! I just swapped out the front passenger motor on my '05 LS. S2kandtheAnt and Rust Belt Auto's videos were great to get me started, but as mine is also an Ultra Luxury the steps were different once I got the actuator out. Your video was really helpful at that stage, as I was feeling very lost when I couldn't get the bottom electrical connector off. Your explanation on keeping it attached and breaking open the seal on the actuator was very helpful!

I'm glad it helped! Definitely scary and confusing when you pull it out and realize it is so much bigger than the non-UL version

Amazing work but generally mechanics are not ready to replace the motor but the whole actuator.
@patrickscarventures6508 Жыл бұрын
Yep. Most will not replace just the motor as it takes a long time. It was definitely fun working on this.
@chuckmuziani62624 жыл бұрын
You didn't take the foam spacer off the original motor and place it on the replacement motor. That could allow the motor to move slightly each time it actuates, leading to additional wear on the gears and motor.

So I only remove the bottom screw of the regulator. And it work. Btw the clip that’s it’s inside the and goes towards the handle. Thath thin it’s like claw- or like y shape and it will grab to what ever it’s in the back. Mating works open and close normal. And even soft close works!. Thanks

Thank you for the video. I recently replaced the rear actuator in my UL 2001. Like you, I had to move the window regulator to create extra space while removing the entire locking assembly. I rolled the window to the top and secured it with tape before unbolting the window regulator. However, during reinstallation, I couldn’t align the four bolts for the window regulator without turning on the ignition and rolling the regulator down slightly. It was puzzling because I hadn’t touched the regulator before reinstalling it. Ultimately, rolling down the regulator helped align the holes for the bolts. Afterward, I rolled the regulator back up. The actuator and soft close functions work perfectly. However, the auto function button on the door for the window regulator keeps rolling the window down halfway when it reaches the top. I’ve tried various online calibrations without success. Have you encountered the same issue after installation?
@ThePerfectionOfLexus7 ай бұрын
I've fixed this problem. It seems the window regulator becomes misaligned when moved/unbolted. You need to remove the window regulator motor and reset it. Then install it on the regulator on tooth nr 9. This will fix the auto button issue. There is a video on youtube explaining, how to reset it,

Does this fix the soft close feature my door is not closing at all and I had to ratchet strap it closed destroying my door panel

Hi, could you confirm if the sunshades on rear door also requires the door panel to be removed completely in order to replace them? Cheers
@patrickscarventures65084 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about the sunshade for the big window or the small window? For the big one, you do need to remove the door panel.

Do you have a link to the exact motor part required?
@patrickscarventures65083 жыл бұрын
The link is always changing because it is just someone on eBay selling it. If you search for the part number, it'll come up (10mm D Flat Shaft, FC-280PC-22125)

Good video. I actually found the rear a lot easier than the front door. That bar on the front door that goes along where the actuator is, was an absolute pain in the ass. But how do you get your alarm to chime when you lock the door on the fob? I’ve read everywhere and can’t find it.. it’s at 12:22
@patrickscarventures65083 жыл бұрын
The car had that set ever since we bought the car. I thought all Toyota cars made that sound by default.

Look on the lower portion of the dashboard where your right knee would be when sitting in the driver's seat. There is a rotary knob. That knob is used to adjust the volume of the 'beep' when locking/unlocking the vehicle via the keyfob. I'm not sure which direction to turn the knob, but it should be simple enough to figure out if clockwise or counterclockwise gives louder 'beep' volume.

Was your door jammed shut when the motor failed if so how did you get the door open without damaging the lock
@patrickscarventures65082 жыл бұрын
No it wasn't jammed. You can just use your hand to unlock the door from the inside. This was just the mechanism for using the button to unlock the door
@alamzeb94642 жыл бұрын
Oh okay mine has soft close and I have changed one door lock already second hand because motor failed kept making crazy noises once in ignition and door was shut and now its done it again and I hope changing the motor for new will sort it?
@patrickscarventures65082 жыл бұрын
@@alamzeb9464 This one is also soft close doors. This motor replacement fixes the lock not being able to be locked/unlocked using the key or the buttons inside. If your door remains shut, it is likely a different issue.
@alamzeb94642 жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for the reply but I fixed this issue by replacing the door lock and to get the door open I had to take the door card off with the door closed very challenging and then hit at the place where the motor sits and the door opened so the issue is related with the motor will replace it today and let you know seems to be a very common issue
