I couldnt figure out why it seemed I had no dome light in my caravan bought used last summer, didnt need light until recently when I have had to drive after sunset and stopped at McD's and couldnt see a damn thing. I got my console open to find the two bulbs gone but laying inside the eyeglass door, not burned out but trying to put one in it only flashed on like the socket it's going into is not making good contact, guess I'll have to mess with that.

hello, the model of all the internal lamps (reading light) are the model T10? In the case of LED lamps what is the maximum watts they can be? thank you

Richard "Richman" Denis, I appreciate this video you made on converting the map light to LED in a 2001-2007 Dodge Grand Caravan or Chrysler Town and Country. I completed the LED conversion as per your instructions except I soldered both the LED's leads to the bulb bracket leads. Easy and inexpensive. I noticed in your video that you have also taken the light covers off of the rest of the cabin overhead lights. I tried to use your method on these light covers and I must not be prying in the right spot. Would you consider making a video on how to remove the cabin overhead light covers? Mark.

hey mark sorry if I took long for a response you can remove them the same way as the front covers by using a small control driver and poping off at the side of the cover do one side at a time use cation as using too much force can brake the braket pry a bit then the other side pry a bit then back to the other side where you first prayed and it should release if you do brake it they can be found in a abundance at your local scrap yard..

I am about to try something similar on a 2019...is that bulb size pc579? I’m thinking of pulling the pc579 and do the same thing with maybe a 194 or similar LED🤔

The PC579C (commercial pack) bulb bases will work in the 2001-2007 Caravan and Town And Country if you use the LED without the wired bases and need a socket base for the LED. Just did this on my mother's 2007 Town and Country.

did you need a load resistor for the LED turn signals?

Yes and use the one's that have cooling fins so they don't over heat and pop otherwise your back to buying another resistor again. .

I don't get how you connect the wires on the new bulb to old piece once you have the old bulb off. Can you show that part?

The 2 parts of the wires of the new bulb get threaded through the socket of the old bulb frame. Then bend the wires over and into the little spring clips. I used a very small screwdriver to push them in. The LED's I used are t-5 type.

Do those leds dim just like regular ones when you close door?

There is an easier way to convert. Get a Pico brand bulb adapter, part #5458PT. I purchased 10 LED's (because they were as cheap as buying 2- don't know how long they will last), JTech10x 194 168 2825 T10 5-SMD White. Both are available on Amazon.

What is the lightbulb number for the map light and for the yellow led lights?

map light is 168 and yellow or amber is 3457a don't forget to add a resistor with the heat-sync on it so you wont get hyper flash.....

Alright thank you Richard I'm going to try to do that but yesterday I tried to replace those reading lights on the sides and believe it or not I was afraid to break that little plastic light cover and I'm still trying to find a video how to remove that without breaking it thank you so much
