2001 Buick Lesabre Oil & Oil Filter Change

I have this same car - and your videos are very helpful and I like the way you explain each step and describe what you are doing. I have been having problems with my car - it stops randomly in the middle of driving and it will restart, but I have to gun the gas and alternate pressing the brake and slowly releasing the gas (as if it were a stick manual car) and that seems to help it go. But it constantly shuts off and 2 mechanics were not able to fix the problem. The diagnostic sensor machine they used on the car said it was the MAF and the MAP sensor - both were replaced. When the MAP was replaced - it worked better for about 2 months and then the problem started again. I took it to another mechanic and he changed the MAP sensor and it worked better for about 20 min. I don’t want to keep taking it to mechanics who do not know what they are doing and also, don’t drive the car - they just use a little sensor machine to read what the machine says is wrong. The electrical board on the dashboard is very faulty and goes in and out of power and working. Have you heard of Buick’s doing this kind of thing often? Is it typical for a Buick? What would you do if I brought my car in to your shop to fix?

Thank you for making this video. I have done this on my car with my father and was about to again but he became very ill and will be passing soon. I will be attempting this again sometime soon to honor him and what he taught me about being self sufficient, and I will be using and referring to this video now to help get me through it. Hello I have a 2002 Buick Regal LS with the 3.8 L 3800 Series II V6 my car also takes 10W30 motor oil I am from Toronto Ontario Canada How many litres of oil does a 3800 Series II V6 take how do you convert 4 & A 1/2 Quarts of motor oil in litres?

4.259 litres = 4.5 guarts

@@fordmustang98guy It would be a little more than 4 &1/4 litres. Put in 4 litres, start and run the car for a couple minutes. Shut off the engine and wait for the oil to drain back into the oil pan. Check the dipstick and add just enough oil till it reaches the full mark on the dipstick.

I have same car. Get rid of engine cover and sparkplug wire covers on valve covers. It's a new recall. Tossed mine a few months ago. Nice vid too. Hint: I wait until next morning to do mine. This way most of oil is in pan.
