1:01:02 - Ah, back when sponsorless teams and drivers actually got a fair share of air time during the broadcasts. Nowadays the networks hardly ever talk about the drivers and teams who are looking for sponsors. The good news is, Kenny did get a sponsor for the Daytona 500. After Hut Stricklin failed to qualify, Hills Bros Coffee decided on the morning of the race to sponsor Kenny.

Thanks for uploading these old races and practice sessions! They are so cool! I used have a bunch of old vhs tapes that I recorded old races on. But I have moved so many times that they got lost. So its nice to still be able to watch them on KZbin. Thanks to you!

1:06:49 - My oh my how times have changed. Some don't earn nothing they have these days, just handed rides because their parents money or they have sponsor allure. I like going back and watching these old broadcasts because they were better times. I'll go out back and yell at a cloud now.

Nancy Nunes J.J.'s crew chief in 2001 was Ken Howes, who had been with Hendrick Motorsports for many years. He was most notably Ken Schrader's crew chief from 1992-1995, just after Schrader's final win.

I miss Daytona speedweeks so much. Tons of time with cars on the track for 500 practice for the shootout practice the shootout, qualifying ,the 125's and finishing with the 500. I hate the no practice now and the shootout being in Los Angeles. I was highly disappointed with it this year. A 77,000 seat football field and they couldn't even fill it. Bring it all back to Daytona where it belongs and give us hours of practice and television coverage like it use to be.

Damn! If Steve Park had ended up on his roof, he could have gone up in a fireball if it weren't for those inspectors. I wonder if the drivers knew when a crew chief was sacrificing a safety item for weight savings.

When they're talking about the Great American Race being called that because of all the American manufacturers and praising Dodge for rejoining, and now it's NASCAR is dominated by Toyota. It's such a shame, Bill France is probably rolling in his grave knowing that.
