Appreciate your time making these vehicle repair videos. I have a 2000 Expedition and back in June I replaced both front and back rotors & brakes. Couple things I would add. Scrub and clean the hub free of rust. Then wipe on some anti-seize on it so the rotor will sit as flush as possible. I would also add a little anti-seize copper lube to the brake pad hardware clips. And finally apply some blue loctight to the brake caliper bolts.

Excellent video. I love the highlighting of the components as you talked about them and the other overlay graphics indicating direction or view angles. Absolutely no questions about what to do or how to do it.

Pretty good video. Thanks for doing it. My only negative comment is that while it is nice you have that brake bleed tool, I actually need to see how to bleed the brakes properly when you don't have that tool.
@InsaneOil2 жыл бұрын
Agreed. However, I started using the bleed tool as I did not have a second person to help.

Great video, not sure if you can answer my question I have a 2002 f150 5.4 it has 7 lugs, are calipers different for different number of lugs❔
@InsaneOil2 жыл бұрын
Calipers are probably a bit larger but in general the procedure should be very similar.

I hope the mechanic I just took my truck to , does all of this. I want to trust mechanics so much.

Agreed. I have had both positive and negative experiences with mechanics.

I'm replacing the left rear hose and I can't figure out if the lip on the brass fitting goes in or out when it faces out the hose lines up better but when it faces in it grips the caliper better underneath with the lip. does it really matter which way that lip faces in or out? when I have the lip facing in towards the rotor on the underneath side the brake line twists weird and almost rubs against the lower caliper bolt which I think is more dangerous than having the lip face outward and having plenty of breathing room between the hose and the caliper bolt.

We’re you in park or neutral for the rear axle to be loose ? For soem reason I thought I should be able to spin the rear tires in park
@InsaneOil8 ай бұрын
Are both of your tires off of the ground?
@mick57408 ай бұрын
@@InsaneOil yep just wrapping it up. Both off the ground and cannot spin them in park and e brake off. And e brake is loosen from doing the job and getting discs off. Thinking I need to get tires back on. Then jack it up again whike it’s in neutral but I never really heard of that lok

@@InsaneOil ok wow!! Just torquing the wheels back on and they are starting to spin a little. I guess the parking brake is still a little tight. It was way over tighten to begin with

@@InsaneOil here update. Since I loosened up the e brake via the wheel After every back together. Had no brakes. I loosened it up pretty good because I didn’t want to damage anything taking discs off and becaue this truck had and still has a real hard e brake pedal. So after that I adjust back some turns and still no ebrake. So I went more and it got right at the wheel and then I have e brake only in reverse! Any help appreciated. So then I backed of s bit and it did take it off some but was kind of engaging the e brake in reverse without the pedal being pushed haha. Big night mare now I guess. Just replaced calipers rotors and pads and bled the rear fairly well. Im guessing there is a adjustment for the pedal also and I probably should have left the wheels alone and just adjusted that This truck still has intermittent soft pedal to the floor This is after a new master cylinder brakes bled and joe this job.

Do you spin the parking break adjuster down on the driver side too? To loosen it
@InsaneOil2 жыл бұрын
That is a great question. I am not sure off of the top of my head. Any luck in figuring out the answer?

Hi! I congratulate you on your channel. I have a f-150 from 2002 triton 5.6l. When I turn it on in the morning, I turn it on quickly, but after a long use I turn it off and when I turn it on again it takes a long time to turn on. what could that be? Thank you!
@InsaneOil4 жыл бұрын
When you say it takes a long time to turn on, do you mean that the engine just keeps turning over without starting?
