This is the most down to earth video I've seen all day. Can't wait to have one of these myself in the future.

Beautiful rig! Dad has a 2007. Same thing, won't ever get rid of it. You should consider getting sliders if you plan on taking it to places like Moab. You do not want to damage the rockers. Trust me.

I know you're right but I just hate how *everything* on these vehicles seems to be four digits! That being said, definitely happening before I take it somewhere like Moab!
@bogotstogoskiing9 ай бұрын
@@danielcars367 Maybe build the 80 to be the Moab rig then? It'll do quite a bit better with the solid axle.

Glad you posted this video, I just picked one up with 220,000 miles, one owner. This is all new to me. First thing I want to put is a bumper like yours. You have any recommendations. Thank you. Greetings from the rural deserts of California!.

TJM bumper! I bought it over the Ironman bumper bc IMO the huge ones just look out of place on the Lexus. I got mine from bumpersuperstore because they had a sale, but you can find a lot of good resources on ih8mud. I’ve heard plenty of good things about Open Country’s too! I really can’t say a negative thing about my KO2’s, they’ve lasted and worn absolutely great and never got me in a weird spot! Would love to make it out to cali one day, that’s sick!

my sub in my 100 series in blown, Trying to figure out what to do, Might go the oem sub route and have a land cruiser specialist install it dunno much on electrical
@danielcars3673 ай бұрын
If you have an LX you can order a refoam kit from a company called Simply Speakers! It’s a good work around, cheap and halfway decent. The factory mark levinson sub is expensive and tbh sounds kinda crappy even new, and it’ll blow again. The factory system is also like 8ohm or something so you can’t just put an aftermarket one in there. Get a good audio shop and they’ll fix you up. If you have a Land Cruiser it’s a lot easier!
@noctilucent73963 ай бұрын
@@danielcars367 which route should I go with the Land Cruiser? Audio Shop re-foam?
@danielcars3673 ай бұрын
If you have a Land Cruiser I’m pretty sure it’s just a regular JBL system and the sub from Toyota is cheap and easy to install. It’s the LX that gives you issues lol

@danielcars367 checked the part it's 450 for the sub 100 LC I'll save up
@danielcars3673 ай бұрын
@@noctilucent7396 Oh dude no way -- theres a thread on the ih8mud forums but you can buy a refoam kit on ebay for like $40 and it's just some glue. I'd never spend $450 on a stock sub

Great video! I have a white ‘06 LX and have planned to build it up very similar to yours! Are you running wheel spacers? Is the AHC at its factory settings?
@danielcars3679 ай бұрын
No spacers! I know theres some high quality ones out there, but to be honest I feel like the whole idea of a spacer is sketchy and I'm just not willing to risk it. Plus, the vehicles I've been in with spacers always kind of drive crappy! I'm at factory AHC settings and it's all in spec - rides pretty good! I haven't ran into too many situations where I wasn't comfortable with the height the H setting gave me either

So are you saying you don't have a HAM license?
@danielcars3676 ай бұрын
At the time of the video I didn’t - I had only used the GMRS feature of the radio up until then, HAM seemed overly complicated at the time, it’s really not, just something I had to sit down and learn
@Being_Joe6 ай бұрын
@@danielcars367 I just messing with you. I don't have a HAM license. You only need a license to transmit but nothing stated that you can't listen in. Also, not a bad idea to just have one for emergencies. In a SHTF situation no one is going to be enforcing anything.
