It works exactly like that. I just did mine yesterday . Took about 3 hours total. Mine has no cabin air filter though. I got a heater now . Thank you for the video.

Thanks for the video. I just did the job. Would like to add that its best to slightly screw the top 2 screws into the heater core before sliding it back in. Then slide the black tube into those open face holes and put a bottom screw in. Then tighten them. Also anyone doing the jib should order the core with gasket included.

@@ChristmanGarageI e been putting mine off for several years but you just made this a breeze. My a/c is going out intermittently as well. Should probably consider replacing the compressor while I’m at it? (I’m assuming it’s the compressor)

Hi, i have a question! So i recently bought a frontier a month ago and decided to check whats up with my heater. Found out the hoses are not connected anywhere from the heatercore. I would like to know where the bypass is at, thank you!
@ChristmanGarageАй бұрын
Normally if someone bypasses the heater core they would disconnect hoses at firewall and connect them together with a union👍 maybe this helps

Would you happen to know if this is the same procedure for the first gen xterra (2001)

What brand heater core did you use? I understand that most aftermarket cores are too thick on the tank ends to install this way.
@ChristmanGarage Жыл бұрын
yes you are correct some of them are too large on the ends, I get most my heater cores from O’Reillys and they sell “Murray heater cores” the Murray one was a perfect fit👍
@whamo1966 Жыл бұрын
@@ChristmanGarage thanks, just completed this job on a 2002 pathfinder with the 3.5 liter. I used the Frontier “Murray” core from Oreillys. The pathfinder core has fixed aluminum tubes that don’t allow replacement without removal of the entire dash. By cutting those off, using the Frontier style core and replacement plastic style tubes I was able to replace with removing the entire dash. It does require massaging the heater hoses.
@ChristmanGarage Жыл бұрын
@@whamo1966 thanks that’s good to know👍

@@whamo1966 You meant you removed the entire dash,or NO removed the entre dash,I have same vehicle as you and I was thinkin to replace heater core,thanks
@whamo1966 Жыл бұрын
@@DavidHernandez-ue4fz I did not remove the dash but I had to cut the old heater core tubes off to remove it. I installed the Murray Frontier core with new outlets. The heater hoses and the firewall grommet don’t fit that great but it works. FYI, you need the heater outlets (tubes), seals, and screws.

Before i had my recovery machine, i went to a shop that did all my ac charging. I would bring a car to them, they would vac it down for me. I would do the repairs and then bring it back to recharge the a.c.. They would only charge me for a standard a.c. charge.
