I have an ‘06 and just a tip on removing the heater core manifold pipes that are under the hood. It is plastic and very fragile. I had to replace mine because of a hairline crack and a mystery coolant loss. One day a puddle under the pathfinder. Not cheap part either. But easy to replace. I did a heater core on my ‘88 Nissan years ago. Took out everything but the windshield and steering wheel.🤣 Thank you for the video!

I just took the pass airbag out and gained access to the heatercore lines and cut them ,connected heater hose to each side with clamps and bypassed the o-rings....works great if you only have a o-ring leak

This is why i don't want anyone doing this on my truck. I will do it myself, They will break clips and won't replace them, They will have left over bolts and us metal items like a screwdriver to remove plastic pieces. I don't know if anyone knows, but the plastic on these truck scratch just by looking at them. Some of these mechanics just don't give a Fook about scratching up your interior. Great work and thanks for sharing.

Would it be ok to cut the metal bars around the core and weld them back in when done? That's a ton of stuff to remove
@FKCamVlogs Жыл бұрын
That is true, but cutting may compromise safety. You still need to open stuff to get to core.

Recycled yes ! Thats the only backdraw for DYI people. Some auto shops may do it for a small fee.

Ill be honest, I went to 4 AC places and they all told me it was the AC Evaporator, Spoke to a Nissan mechanic and he laughed, he told me most AC guys claim it's the AC Evaporator When it is really the Expansion Valve leaking at O rings or stuck in a position. He told me those AC Evaporator are built like a tank and don't leak as easily as most claim. I took the Nissan Mechanics Word and changed out the Expansion Valve and O rings, took me 20 minutes and I am not a Mechanic. I got my AC Refilled at an AC place ive never been to before because i did not want to take it back to the other 4 AC guys who told me it was the AC Evaporator and try and make an excuse to say I have a bad leak. Anyways, AC was filled, new AC guys says you have no Leaks and as of today AC is Ice Cold on my 06 Nissan Frontier. It turns out my O rings were leaking from thr Expansion Valve and they were pretty dry when I pulled them out. Make sure your AC empty before changing expansion Valve or the refridgerant that comes out will give you a nasty burn on your hands, thats how cood that refriderant is I gone with my gut feelings on a few jobs, turns out i was right and right again in it not being the AC evaporator on my Nissan Fronier 06 with only 37k miles on it, Mechanic was correct and so was my gut feeeling. I recommend all to change the expansion valve first before pulling out complete dash it is between $18-$25 and 20+ minutes to do first, then get it refilled and see how it goes. I cant see Evaporators going out that easily. The mechanic i took it to who told me it was AC Evaporator was removing an ac evaporator from a 2019 vehicle, now you know that AC guys is a clown. AC evaporatore don't last 4 years 😂

Thanks for sharing your experience and glad you were able to get it diagnosed properly and used your own judgement. The heater core is easily diagnosed, first it leaks antifreeze in the vehicle, secondly your antifreeze level drops. If you run your heater it makes your windshield foggy. Other signs include wet carpet under or around glove compartment. Antifreeze smell inside the car, your heater wont work.
@ELEVOPR Жыл бұрын
@@FKCamVlogs Yes the heater core is easier to diagnose based on what you mentioned.

Dude, why didn't you pull the heater core out to show it and where the leak was? I think I'll just get a new vehicle. Way too much trouble.. seriously don't understand why manufactures make us so difficult to get the heater core out..
@FKCamVlogs10 ай бұрын
I couldn't agree less why they make it so difficult. To show exact leak I had to run pressure and quite frankly I wanted to get done with the job. If I have to redo, I will just bypass the core and add a plugin heater.
