Super nice unit. 4WD button just engages the front axle - for hard surfaces and road use. Lever back locks center differential. Lever across and forward is center diff lock and low ratio.

Yes the Surf (4 Runner) had a lockable (Torsen) center diff 50/50 front to rear for real off road use, L4 I believe . H4 is not locked and split torque 40/60 front to rear and can be used on pavement as can H2 is for 2WD.

They are in Europe where i live the 1999's majority of them are manual (UN imported them during Balkan war) BTW the engine sound is to high even for a diesel the rev limiter was above 1k wich means there is a 'glowplug' wich is turned on, To turn the car easier in winter.

They're about the same. I had a 99 SR5 T4R and with meticulous maintenance you can easily get 20+ mpg with city driving. Best I ever saw driving from Virginia DMV area to Tampa Florida 10+ times over was 28mpg. The 1KD-FT 3.0 turbo Diesel will average ~21mpg as well.

yes, car policy change every month. now the government strick on 660 cc pickup truck. each company can import only ome truck in a month. you can see those small pick ups in every street of Yangon. however there is a black market in Thailand border where nearly 200 cars get into Myanmar everyday.

Sadly the aftermarket HID-set isn't legal without the headlight washer kit,and the automatic headlight leveling.(In most countries.Or you not removing it, and the oncoming driver gets a free eye surgery with your disgustingly bright headlights. )
