2002 - 2007 Honda Accord Euro R - Clutch Replacement - Sub Frame In Place

Hey team,
We replace the clutch on a 2005 Honda Accord Euro R 6 Speed. We were able to replace it without removing the subframe, heaps of room to do so. Fairly straight forward, the only tricky bolts were the rear mount bolts and the one bolt on the starter motor under the intake. Enjoy :).

Thanks for the video, I used this method for my 04 TSX CL9 and was able to separate the transmission in 2 hours. It's a tight fit, but I was able to replace the crankshaft seal and pilot bushing as well.

Hi, great job and a great in depth video. I have 2004 accord euro r right hand drive and it needs a release bearing replacement so might as well do the clutch. I am just wondering what clutch brand you went for and could you tell me what sort of money would this cost all in, from a garage?

Hi Peter, we went with an exedy clutch kit. At a guess 6-8 hours of labour, then times that by what your local hourly rates are. Here they are around $80-120 p.

I love this tutorial thank you for posting! and also how did you figure it was misfiring? were there any codes?

Usually a flashing check engine light indicates a misfire. The best way to find out which cylinder is misfiring is by plugging in a code read into OBD port. If you don’t have a code reader you can check manually by disconnecting the wire harnesses attached to the ignition coils. Make sure you disconnect one at a time and listen for a different in engine rpms. If you unplug one harnesses connect to the ignition coils and you don’t hear a change in rpms then you have an issue with that cylinder. There could be many things reasons why you have a miss fire but you should start with replacing spark plugs or the ignition coils. I replaced both on my Honda Accord and it fixed the flashing check engine light.

Hey, a decent range of sockets, extensions, spanners, pry bar, pliers, screw drivers, ball joint separator. You will need a large socket for the CV nut in the wheel hub, should be 36mm. Jack, axle stands or a lift. General tools really, the only specialized tool is the clutch alignment tool, which should come in the replacement clutch kit. GL!

Hey champ I have an accord euro 2005, is it only a pilot bush that goes into the flywheel? No pilot bearing correct.

6-8 hours roughly. Most of the work was done by one person, having 2 people is helpful.

If ths is with auto transmission i.e accord, can we bring down the gbox without dismantle the sub frame?

Probably not, as we just moved the trans to one side still within the engine bay. You may have to drop the subframe.

They look to be the same. If you are replacing parts, just check part numbers using your frame number on part catalog websites like jp-carparts.com. Cheers.

Could you please help me with a problem, when I push the clutch pedal in on my 2008 Accord Euro R my car still won’t start, is there a Censor behind the clutch pedal that might need replacing, and if so is it difficult to install, please send me a text or something, I really am stuck , thanks very much, take care.
