Hi Nick. I'm from Portugal and I also have a 1999 z3 M coupe, version S50B32. Congratulations on the machine, the car in stock condition is already almost perfect, so with these rims and closer to the ground it's perfect. I also have the idea of making a set of rims like this and i hope you could help me, the plates come from rc090 bbs? what are the measurements of the front and back barrels/lips? thanks and have a nice weekend

This combo of washing unique rides with the owner collaborating and telling the story is great. I look forward to more of these in the future. Maybe I should take a road trip from Southeast Texas to Calgary and let you wash mine. I'm sure it'd need it after that haul. I'm also digging the BBS love. With the custom build and attention to detail, these wheels are like jewelry on that car. And I'm going to hunt down that Anti-Insekt. 3 minutes dwell time and no scrubbing sounds like a dream.

Wow..Wow..Wow! One of your BEST videos Rick. Very enjoyable from start to finish. Those wheels !!!! Is that rim the most difficult to clean, shine and polish? How much time of the overall 8 hours did you spend on wheels and tires? The end results are nothing short of spectacular. I really liked the up front interview about the car...you really told a story. I was holding out for a customer reaction min or two at the end. He must have been blown away with the results and the quality of your work. Love the music as always and I really think you "knocked it out of the park" with this detail. Great job. Thanks Mike, I am going to take your comment to heart and see if I can include a post-detail interview with the owner on the next one. Rick, your on a roll buddy. All these great cars over the past few weeks. I've really enjoyed your content. Another great color combo on this one. And I agree with the owner, the Oxford Green and black interior are spot on! It would have definitely been my choice. Had a nice car once in Navy Blue with the entire interior in Beige. It looked nice overall, but the beige interior was a bitch to keep clean, especially the carpets and seats. This was before the days of "leather coat" products and all these new fangled ceramic's and the like for interiors. It was saddle soap and elbow grease back then for the seats. Every car since that one, black interiors for me just for ease of maintenance. Can't say I wouldn't have a light interior again, because I probably would if it looked incredible with the exterior color, and some do. But for ease of maintenance, dark colors on interiors is my choice. I also agree with him about the sun roof. I'm not a sun roof fan. I like my cars without it. Not sure why, i've had many both ways, but I just prefer it without the sun roof. My wife's got a convertible, that's better than a sun roof when I want the open top. When these cars first came out, I think a lot of people thought they just looked weird compared to the open top Z3 they shared the platform with. I thought they really looked cool. With those wide hips on the rear and that hatch back/shooting brake type of design. It was definitely different. Now it's a sought after collectible, especially for BMW fans. It's one of their rarer ones for sure and you don't see them that often anymore because many of them are in collections tucked away in a garage or warehouse somewhere, rarely seen by human eyes anymore. You must have inspired me again because I did some maintenance on my own sports car today. Did a thorough wash, applied Glassparency, did a coating on my rims, applied Opti-coat tire coating on all the tires after a thorough strip down of the rubber, and finished with a ceramic detailer top up on the whole vehicle. Overall, a good 4 hours!
@nickcoughlan58684 жыл бұрын

This is one of the greatest cars BMW ever made, not just from a styling point of view (subjective) but from a driving experience point of view. The Z3 as a whole (yes even the 4 banger one from the early years) are so cool, nothing really gave it a run for its money back then except for maybe the C5 Corvette but that car has an awful interior material. I owned a 2001 Z3 2.5 roadster. Best of the 9 cars I've owned so far and it's a shame they're so expensive now because I would buy another one in a heartbeat if it had the right specs. Nice job cleaning his ZCoupe up, I'm sure he was happy with it.

8 hours? was that mostly focused on the wheels? or was there any type of paint correction done that wasn't in the video? just wondering, because it looks amazing!
@RADGarage4 жыл бұрын
Yes, mostly focused on the wheels. Probably a good 45-minutes per wheel. Plus, I did the bug step and really took my time on the Defy finish. I would have loved to spend some time polishing up the paint, but the owner had recently had a guy perform a polish so that will be next time hopefully.

Really enjoying your work. 2 questions: 1) why do you use a towel to dry when you have a blower? 2) What power sprayer are you using (including hand nozzle)?
@RADGarage4 жыл бұрын
If a car doesn't have a nice ceramic coating, I find using the Master Blaster takes a bit of time so I will use the towel (5 mins) to remove 80% of the water and then use the MB to get that last 20%. On my car, I can blow it dry in a matter of minutes. I have posted links to all the pressure washing equipment in the video description below. My PW is okay, but I absolutely love the Mosmatic swiveling sprayer.

Amazing video as always. I have a similar setup, and the exact same floor - how do you manage the after-wash humidity?
@RADGarage4 жыл бұрын
It’s quite surprising how quickly the space dries out if I just open the big door. We have really dry air here so that helps. Where are you located?
@I999-g2s4 жыл бұрын
RΔD GΔRΔGE I’m located in Eastern Canada, so humidity is generally quite high throughout the summer and while it’s very low in the winter, the temperature is way too cold to open the large door :-( I’m assuming you have a floor drain for all the water to drain to? Isn’t the Swisstrax just amazing for car washing?
@RADGarage4 жыл бұрын
It is amazing for keeping the water at bay. I don't actually have a drain. Yet. I am going to be installing a trench drain/catch basin system in a month or so. It will be a massive project, but worth it in the end. For now, the water just slowly flows out the door to the driveway where it evaporates.
@I999-g2s4 жыл бұрын
RΔD GΔRΔGE we did the line-drain in our garage, works great. We did it as part of a new-build and it was still a very tricky install. We were lucky enough to have an easement at the back of the lot, so the drain runs all the way out to there.

Are you using Adam's new formula glass cleaner yet?
