2002 Buick LeSabre 2nd blend door actuator

Just giving you some help on replacing the blend door actuator for the drivers side, what a pain.

That big black box in front of the actuator comes out with 1 screw opens the whole thing up for easy access

You did a great job in this video..Got an 05 Lesabre....already did the pass side a couple years ago. Now the opposite one needs replaced. My need a chiropractor to straighten out the back after this one. Great video. :)

Did both sides on this 05 LeSabre a few years ago. This time, am removing the drivers seat / console so can lay on the floor!

I really appreciate this video. I had only vent. No floor or defrost. I am not a young man and. I don’t know what pleases me more: saving money by doing it myself, or being able to kink my body to get to the actuator. The only hangup was that you have to line up that round switch and then force it on. Looking b ack, a little veggie oil would have helped . Silicone same idea. Again ,thanks a bunch.Be sure to follow the instruction that comes with the new one.

Was it originally blowing hot on driver side?

Getting it out was not a big problem. But putting the new one in was. The blend door is heavy and if you turn it, it won't stay where you want it to install the diverter. Ended up plugging in diverter, (not installed yet) and turning key on to move diverter to where you need it and shut it off and remove the plug. If the diverter isn't in correct place it won't fit on the blend door rod. Install and hopefully it is aligned up and put the screws in. Now program the diverters before doing anything else.

Follow up, I got the actuator in and I have heat on the drivers side but now I get it cool. I may have to redo it and see if the actuator is lined up properly but I don't want to.

@@drivewaygarage1561 I'm small so I was able to get it. But it's working perfectly fine. Both actuators turn. I have cold ac and heat running fine on the passenger side but no cold ac from driver side. Any ideas what else it can be??

@@loving1616 Probably a little low on freon charge, many people have found the drivers side stops cooling before the passenger side when freon charge is marginal.

I have a 2003 buick lesabre limited cold on passenger side hot on driver side I checked passenger side it rotates and that's the temperature adjustment from hot to cold so the blend door on drive I a sum is the door opener haven't checked it yet but I'll get back when I check it

Hey i have this exact same issue. I looked at the driver side actuator and it wasn't rotating. hopefully yours is the same

I piled up a bunch of drop cloths outside my car up to door level so most of my body was outside the car. One of my legs was up in the window.

I have cold air coming out on passenger side and warm on driver side when I have my ac on same issue?

Jim, did replacing this actuator solve your problem? .... i can't get air from my defroster, i replaced the actuator on the passenger side but it did not solve my problem.

Replace the driver side too i'm having the same issue no defrost or floor.

I heard that the actuator on the drivers side under the dash was for the defrost and floor air. Can you verify that?

I have the same model and year. I check both actuators and there good, has Freon also. Do you know of anything else it could be ? Hot air on drivers side cold on passenger.

I have air only coming out top of dash, no air coming out the vents when it's on air conditioner or vent. Only comes out of top dash, has ice cold air conditioner and hot heat
