You fast forward through the entire process and don't describe what you're doing. How am I supposed to learn how to do this?
@OrdoSanctiBenedictus7 ай бұрын
appreciate the video but all the steps you fast forward we need to see and hear what you're doing. Maybe you have other videos of those steps. This is a video we are watching every step.

What do you wash your car before working on it? I would have washed it after because you could have an oil spill.
@TheRealJoeM6173 жыл бұрын
if you are complaining about speed, set the video to .5 speed and watch. That puts it about right.

working on the same car but I have to replace my blown head gasket as well, did you have to adjust the push rods on reinstall?
@justhes10 жыл бұрын
I did not have to adjust anything. They are non adjustable. Just keep the rods in order.

yup but like you I watch to see if it drops back. There are videos on thermostat replace.

you should never put regular coolant in a car designed for dex cool. regular coolant will screw up the engine.
@torquewrenchjeff26225 жыл бұрын
bullshit
@torquewrenchjeff26225 жыл бұрын
unless you are saying that you should never mix the two together. But if you have replaced all of your dex cool with green you will be better off with antifreeze that doesnt eat up gaskets. SIMPLE DECISION- PUT ANTIFREEZE IN THAT DOESNT EAT UP GASKETS

Hi I have a question. My boyfriend owns a 1999 chevy malibu. He calls me today saying his car stalls out & it was a possibility it ran out of gas. So I drove to him with a 1 gallon of gas put it in the tank & car started but turned off immediately. Luckily his car was in front of a mechanic shop & ask for some help they sprayed gas starter fluid (I believe?) in the air take. His car start & drove home. He said at first it felt like his car was jerking, while he was driving to our house. his engine light turned on also. I looked under the car I see engine like oil dripping. What do u think it could be? Before we left That mechanic said it's a possibility it was a bad fuel pump.
@chrismason1167 Жыл бұрын
Sounds like it could be a clogged fuel filter or fuel pump
@OrdoSanctiBenedictus7 ай бұрын
Listen, forget about the fuel pump. Before anything else purchase a $35 ignition switch you can get it anywhere it comes with a new set of keys. Does your car have anti theft light going off? The ignition switch is the culprit. They told me the same thing. I mean mechanics with 50 yrs experience. They thought fuel pump. The ignition switch goes bad and triggers the antitheft that triggers the car to shut off drains the battery and so on. Just try the cheaper option first.

I have a 2002 Chevy Malibu v6 (around 99, 768 miles) at first I think my car heated up so much because I needed a new radiator, but that was not the case. A friend told me that the gasket heads are blown. I was wondering...if I would to take it to a mechanic for repair, do anyone knows the price will be?

Hey Justes, I just got a quote of $900 to do this, should I attempt this myself?

Let me just say I owned one of these cars for 7 years and it was by far the worst car ever!! Mechanical issues were never ending since brand new!! Put 100k miles on it over my ownership. Did the intake manifold twice (at 40k and again at 90k) brake pads and rotors about every 20k (which is absolutely insane) fuel pump replaced at 60k, starter at 30k and again at 75k, and that's just a few things! Bought a Toyota new and have had it for 7 years now and have done nothing but change the oil, tires, and put gas in it!!! American cars from this era are built like SHIT!! Do not buy this generation Malibu!!!
@greatwhitejake889 жыл бұрын
U had to redo the work over again? OK, I have to ask. Where did u buy the parts from to change the gaskets, starter, fuel pump and breaks? Also, what quality parts did u buy? I'm guessing reman starter and fuel pump, cheaper than dog shit rotors and pads and some unknown name gasket set off of eBay? If u buy good proven name parts and do the job right, doesn't matter what make or model the vehicle, the parts should not fail that quick if u buy good (not dirt cheap junk) parts and do it right the first time. Also, the intake gaskets go bad on these cause the coolant system gets air in it or someone puts the wrong coolant in the system and it turns the dexcool into sludge.
@greatwhitejake889 жыл бұрын
***** anytime u change any engine gaskets that have coolant passages, u should ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS flush the entire system in gm cars of any type!!!!! If u don't u will be doing the job all over again, except the next time may be a lot more costly due to ignorance of this fact or laziness. Oh and I really hope this guy flushed all the dexcool from the system of this car, if he didn't it will need all the gaskets and maybe more replaced. Remember I said if dexcool is mixed with any other coolant it turns to sludge?
@Gushers22767 жыл бұрын
Yah also it's absolutely imperative you clean the egr passageway on the intake manifold
