Man that is such a clean Focus. Most around here are in pretty rough shape. Also the only Focus bodytype from this gen you have left to do is the wagon (my personal favorite)

These sold hugely in Europe mostly the 1.6 Sigma Zetec with the IB5 manual as the 2.0 Zetec this car has was rare in Europe compared to the US not surprised a lot of people in the US that wanted a small car like these they are really nice to drive I think the Mk1 Focus is one of the most important cars Ford ever built in Europe at least.
@markhealey940910 ай бұрын
The Focuses sold in the US & Canada were always built in America. The first gen & 3rd gen were developed & designed in Europe,the 2nd gen over there was a different,American design. Strange how they reverted back to the European design for the 3rd gen. North America unfortunately didn't get the current gen of the Focus,or the current gen Fiesta.
@darylyatestransportblogs10 ай бұрын
@@markhealey9409 the reason North America got the European Mk3 was part of the one Ford strategy so one car for all the world Ford ditched normal cars in North America in favour of SUVs and it seems to be the case that Europe is heading the same way.

Nice! Just sent this video to a friend who loves his manual trans 2004 Focus ZX5. Harkens back to the days where we had modern sophisticated cars but that are really quite plain on today's standards. Amazing how much technology has advanced in less than two decades. The Focus still looks current, not too dated at all.

I just recently picked up a 2002 ZX5 from a police auction for $910. It MANUAL and that was the main reason why I got it, they (manuals) are getting HARDER to find these days. It has 206k miles on it and was in a somewhat minor accident in the front (air conditioning condenser was WIPED OUT) and the windshield needs replacing. The car actually RUNS PRETTY GOOD, decent tires, electric windows work, cruse control works, clutch appears to work fine, the interior is ok but small plastic pieces are missing or broken. ALL and ALL I'm reasonably happy as long as it does breakdown anytime soon. My WORSE mileage so far is about 21mpg and I've gotten almost 27mpg so far, mostly around town driving. I want to check STRICTLY HIGHWAY MILES after I replace the air cleaner and check out the plugs, don't know when they were done last. I REALLY ENJOY DRIVING IT, IT HANDLES QUITE WELL (better than I thought it would) It's not easy to actually drive SLOW with this car. It's not real fast BUT it would be EASY TO GET A SPEEDING TICKET if you aren't careful. I ENJOY SHIFTING GEARS AND DOWNSHIFTING, PUTS THE FUN BACK INTO DRIVING.😁👍

I love mk1 focuses! It reminded me of Colin McRae's rally cars and Colin McRae game I played as a kid! The mk1 Focus RS is so badass! I wish we got the mk1 Focus back then (us Indonesians only received the MK2 & mk3 focuses before Ford exits the Indonesian market)

hey i own one of those XD , mine is the 1.8zetec with 114hp and its a december 2004 model(last year and month for this body style in europe)all i can say is , parts are cheap and kinda easy to find (i had some trouble getting a rear caliper for mine since most models had drum brakes at the rear) and they do suffer from electrical problems like the radio setting itself on fire or certain sensors having errors from a smudge of dirt and also rust is a huge problem, and i mean barely better than mk1 mazda 3s , mine got so rusty a spring snapped and the whole right side is now a "piece of art", but considering all of these i would recommend one more so if its your first car, they are dirt cheap and easy to work on, so easy in fact that i even took 3 broken radios, made a good one and added a #custommade aux cord to it, so get one while they are under $1500 before they suffer from "the great uprising" in value like civics (who in the world thinks that his rusty ej9 civic base model is worth $3000)
