good work ! yes those top bolt are ludacris! I see you pulled the differential with the engine. you are correct about 11 bolts on the back of the engine, 2 additional holes for the starter. way to stay with it . that little motor on the right side of the oil pan, i took it off for fear of breaking it. You're on the Downhill roll now ! it's nothing but better from here .thanks for the Posts!

There is a video of this engine swap done by a shop. They unbolted body (8bolts) + harness + fuel + brakes + etc. Pulled body off with lift and swapped engine and had engine in and running in 14 hrs total. Pretty cool. Nice if you have a lift.

I would love to see you swap in one of Envoy 4.2L Vortex engines into my 96 GMC sierra. Well, I'm too poor to afford that so you better use your own truck. Anyway, around here (in Oklahoma,) these Envoys, and Trailblazers are being sold for parts all over the place. I would like to see how you overcome the pitfalls, and problems so I can avoid them. Is there a conversion kit out there?

those top bolts will be a lot easier if you just pull the transfer case and let the engine hang down..the case isn't even half as difficult as it is on a pickup truck.

WOW. Whoever designed the 4 wheel drive on these vehicles should be beaten in town square. I have an 06 trailblazer that needs an engine. I don't know if I want to go through all of that. Time will tell. Great series, BTW.

🧏‍♂️ I have done 7 GMC Envoy engine swaps and one of the things i have learn is, it's better taking out the engine with the transmission together it's more easy the job. But you did good removing only the motor but it was harder doing it but it's still a good job 👍

I was talking to a guy and he said you had just have some kind of special tool for something to mess with the front in parts

If your pulling the motor out just take off the cylinder head and those Bolt's are easy to get to from the top

I am balls deep into a 2004. It's really kicking my but as far as time. The charcoal canister was a real bitch. Hen the exhaust hanger on the transfer mount didn't wanna come off. I am trying to do it without removing intake and starter. Not sure if the starter bolts go through or into the trans. I miss when you could unbolt a trans mount a u joint, some wires and hoses and yank em out.

then after you unbolt all the bolts. put the cross member back in and pull your engine...

I live in ga south of Atlanta and got a 4.2 TB 2wd and need a new motor installed and need to know what it cost to do this or can some do a body swap and place my TB 2wd body on my 4+4 tb same years

Currently swapping a blown engine and all I have left is those two bolts at the top. HOW THE HELL DO YOU DO IT? I even have what you said you got it off with. even with a body lift kit it's still a tight fit.
