After replacing the fuel pump in my 2006 Jeep grand cherokee laredo 3.7 WK- Im now having a problem with a vapor lock and my new pump is making a ringing/humming noise off and on-is there a way to fix it with a inline check valve or inline filter of some sort. I have to release pressure on the fuel rail to re-crank it after it runs for more than 20 minutes/ which is a possible fire risk which makes it not safe to drive. Any suggestions?

Is the way to do a mercedes c180 w204.46 timing chain tensioner. Ive changed to cam shaft adjustor and put in a new tensioner but it keeps going out of timing due to the timing chain is still slack 😑 David

Yeah, prime it to a full extension, screw it in and then you have a new problem a chain guides wear out. Tensioner has to prime it self so it adjusts to the chain strecth with no more force then an oil pressure.

I’m working on a 2006 zx5 Same exact engine and transmission I have a question I’m also swapping the master cylinder can I just drain the resivoir as the first step and second question is will I lose all the mtf oil when I pull the cv axles ? So should I drain the two quarts of mtf oil first as well ?

Yes I got in a hurry and cleaned my tensioner out to get all contaminated oil out well I forgot to prime it was and first time I failed on timing .

When you go to compress it again to put pin in it to install the chain do you think it will still be primed?

My pump does work, it does turn on. When ohm tested, I am getting a resistance of 3.7 ohms (not between 1-3). Should it still be replaced? Or is this okay? Since it works and the ohm reading is above 3, I’m not sure.

I love watching people do things the wrong way. the hardest part of this job is removing the steering colum, a bit hard on the neck. the rest of the job is just time consuming. just take your time and follow the steps in the ford shop manual for this vehicle. while doing this job its recommended to change the ac heater blend door and heater door actuator too while its apart, about $60 for those two additional parts.
