Join me as I review 4712 Troll on the Loose, a 2002 LEGO Harry Potter set from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone recreating the scene in the girl's bathroom at Hogwarts where Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger defeat a fully-grown Mountain Troll released by Quirinus Quirrell. Troll on the Loose from LEGO Harry Potter is one of the smaller 2002 sets and lacks important minifigures such as Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley but does have a great LEGO Mountain Troll maxifigure. As well as a review of 4712 Troll on the Loose, you'll also find a 45 second speed build and a LEGO recreation of the troll scene from Philosopher's Stone. Enjoy!

LEGO Harry Potter 4712 Troll on the Loose was released in 2002 at a cost of $10 with a part count of only 71 pieces which included a HP005 Harry Potter minifigure and an exclusive Mountain Troll maxifigure. A low part count means you miss out on a lot of detail including the bathroom stalls that the troll destroys and several key minifigures. Instead on Ron using Wimgardium Leviosa to brain the troll, we have an action feature dropping LEGO bricks down onto the Mountain Troll. Despite the screen accuracy, I do retell the story as it should be complete with obligatory troll bogies!
