Iv got a 98 mazda protege would not idle in drive and would miss when on highway was getting worse.. I did what you said with SENSORKLEEN and my car is running perfect. I inspected my intake hose it was cracked so I fixed that also . Thank you so much awsome video !!

Great story, glad the video got you results. On more than one occasion this car has experienced the same issues, and its always cleaning and checking vacuum hoses that leads to a fix. This last time it was the pressure regulator control solenoid valve and a hose that went bad. It was probably the cheapest solenoid to replace and the car now runs great. Thank you for the feedback and for watching.

Not necessarily always the MAF causing the problem. As mentioned below. Check for a cracked air intake hose. These can become brittle with age. The hose can easily get a split on the underside (where you can't obviously see the split) when you lift up the air box (with the intake hose still attached) to replace the air filter element.

Keith, appreciate the useful information. This particular car seems to have issues, probably due to age, with leaks occurring on a regular bases. Frustrating but you get better at looking for the cause each time. Thanks for sharing.

@@cfldriven No worries. Last time for the wife's 2003 Mazda 323 Astina it was the split air intake hose. This time I think it is the MAF sensor, hence watching your video clip. I hope to clean the MAF today. Thanks for posting as your video clip shows an identical MAF as in the Mazda 323 Astina (Australia).

@@kookakj How interesting, my first Mazda was the USA 1988 323 hatchback, which I kept for 18 great years.

@@murphy874 Glad my suggestion was of help. I just recently solved another problem of the engine running rough and hesitating on acceleration in low gears. Similar to a fuel blockage but I had already replaced the fuel filter. Next I replaced the spark plugs. They were in need of replacing but this didn't solve the problem. I had already cleaned the MAF after watching this video but this didn't solve the problem either. Although the engine did run a little better after I cleaned the MAF. I had already replaced the ignition leads and coils, which I thought was only a few years ago. Turns out I replaced them 5 years ago (64500kms ago). So I replaced them again and the problem was solved. The Mazda now runs great, like it used to.

What if your check engine light comes on...and the reader shows that it needs to be replaced....best to replace it or clean it out and see if it works. ?
@cfldriven4 жыл бұрын
As I was telling my daughter when her check engine light came on, always start trouble shooting with the easy solutions before moving onto difficult ones. I would first clean it and see if that resolves the issue. If it works the sensor solvent will have cost you only a few bucks. Thanks for watching.

I have idle problems when on parking, when im in the highway it stalls feels lile missfire but it has new coils, sparks and wire. Should be mass?
@cfldriven4 жыл бұрын
Well yes and no, the problem is it can be several things. With this car we start with the cheap and easy things like diagnosis reader (I use BlueDriver), checking vacuum lines, looking for air leaks, loose plug & ignition wires, then clean MAF. The next is wires and coils which you have done, next thing I would check is the pressure regulator control solenoid valve near intake manifold. There are several solenoid but again this is the cheapest to replace. Recently that was the culprit, but it seems that every year it one of the above things with this car. Wishing you much success.

@@cfldriven i went through everything today, checked vacuum lines, changed maf, changed coils again, cleaned throttle body i went through everything and still doing the same thing. Has no check engine light, it feels like hiccups when in idle and its maybe between 400 to 600 rpms.😔

@@Kaponi_21 Anthony not sure what else to recommend except letting a pro look at it. You have already eliminated a lot of potential causes so hopefully that helps the mechanic narrow it down. Would love to hear what causing it, as I'm sure others would also benefit from the knowledge. thank you.

Is it really safe to spray the connectors?

Yes the liquid evaporates very quickly and will not harm it, but will clean the contacts. Thank you for the good question.

Guys I need help.. I have mazda 3 2005 1.6... When ever I on ac my car accelerater go up n down automatically.. Then I turn off Ac car is normal again.... It's only happen when I on Ac... Can anyone tell me what is problem?? Please
@SlowKingHD6 жыл бұрын
That's normal if it jumps up and extra 200rpm
@LxTxSURGE6 жыл бұрын
It might be your spark plugs not burning properly since the ac makes the engine work harder it uses more fuel It could be fault spark plugs or oil in your spark plugs (like I had I needed a new gasket) Or it could be a dirty maf and filter or your radiator might not be cooling properly or your thermostat, worst case would be a failing water pump
