Great job! Thanks for showing me how it's done, now I can get the Differential Oil, Gasket Glue, and the pressure torque gauge. Thanks.

Remove fill plug first for quicker drain
@RazorBucks2 жыл бұрын
You should always loosen the fill plug first, I am sorry if I did not go over that. I did not remove it completely, because I was trying to avoid misplacing the plug. The expand on this question and m statement above, you need to ensure you can remove the fill bolt before the drain the oil. Yes it will make drain slightly faster by removing the bolt completely, I am prone to misplacing or hitting things while laying on my back and I just try to make it easier for me to get everything put back together in the correct spot. Thank you for the comment and have a great day.

Wish I would have listened to your final thoughts. I saw you had two quarts sitting there and thought that'd suffice. It definitely takes three. (2000 SE V6 3.3)

For the long beds, lowering the spare tire won't be necessary while filling because it's spaced out further

Is this the same for an 04 xterra xe v6 3.3L

It should be similar, they share the same platform. However, I am not 100% sure.

Would you recommend putting anti seize on the fill and drain bolts?
@RazorBucks4 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I would recommend OEM replacement bolts, but that is expensive. I personally used gasket maker on my bolts in an OEM style and it worked.
@tokenn18224 жыл бұрын
@@RazorBucks I mean using anti seize on the threads so the next time it would be easier to unscrew. I know I've seen some videos where the put anti seize on spark plug threads so it would be easier to remove the next change. What do you think?

@@tokenn1822 I apologize, I misread your question. I did not use it, but I do not think it would hurt. I have never used it myself on anything.

Did you lift up the rear end? Back up ramps or put the truck on jacks?
@RazorBucks6 жыл бұрын
If I recall correctly, I did put the passenger side on jack stands, but only because my driveway is on a slope.

@Razorbucks good afternoon. Do you know if I could use this oil to change the differential oil on my Manual transmission 2001 Nissan Frontier XE ?
@RazorBucks5 жыл бұрын
You should be fine, but if you still have your vehicle manual, I would recommend going to the Fluids and Capacity section and it will state there what type you can use and the amount needed.
@walterortega21625 жыл бұрын
Ok 👌 I don’t have one but I will find out by calling the dealership. Thanks

@@walterortega2162 I will check my manual today and let you know.

Razor Bucks so I called the dealership and they told me to use 80 90w GL-5 additive LSD but i forgot to ask how much fluid to use . I will check to see if I could get a manual from google. I appreciate it. I like your videos their very useful.

Couldn’t you have just used teflon tape instead of rtv?
@RazorBucks7 жыл бұрын
RTV is recommended by the factory service manual. I am not sure tape would work, given that it breaks down easily.

Teflon does not hold up against heat or oils with detergents.

Its only takes about 1.5 bottles to do a differential change on my 2015 Frontier. You must have spilled a whole bottle man.
@RazorBucks4 жыл бұрын
What I put in there is what it requires. However, I have an 02 and you have a 15, could be the difference.
@philc.92804 жыл бұрын
@B Rad Yes they only come in quart bottles at the store. I guess I've seen gallon jugs but that's mainly for car shops. For my 2015 Frontier the change was a little more than 1.5 as I have less than half a bottle left. It's easier if you lower the spare tire but do not have to remove it, just push it over. Very simple job
