2002 Subaru WRX autocross project - Stock scoop is 10x better than the Seibon scoop - Ep 4

I just bought a 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX for my new track car! I'll be autocrossing and tracking it, but first I have to figure out everything that's wrong with it and fix it up. In this video, I continue working on the suspension, and we look at how much better an OEM WRX hood scoop is compared to the Seibon aftermarket one that came with the carbon fiber hood.

Is that not a short shifter though? Quicker gear shifting always a plus lol

Ever timed yourself with a short shifter? I don't think the length of the shifter is most people's bottleneck :-) I'm trying to get the stock balance back, I don't think the short shifter feels good.

I’ve had short shifters before but no I’ve never timed it. I preferred the feel myself but I suppose everyone has different tastes. I just thought it maybe better if you were going to track it. Great vids though matey, keep up the good work 👍🏼

With WRXs, the common fear is that the trans is weak and I'll break it. If a longer, softer shifter prevents me from banging gears as hard, that's probably a good thing. Also, if I were shorter I could see the short shifter being more comfortable. I didn't mind the shorter throws nearly as much as the shorter height.
