2002 Subaru WRX autocross project - Painting a scoop with spray paint - Ep 8

I just bought a 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX for my new track car! I'll be autocrossing and tracking it, but first I have to figure out everything that's wrong with it and fix it up. In this video, I paint the hood scoop, replace an axle, replace the brake calipers, and clean it up!

Hey man, just wanna say that watching these vids of yours has made me take the plunge and pick myself up a 2000 bugeye as a project car. my main goal is to restore it and to get it running smoothly whilst also looking super stock. I'm not really mechanically inclined but I really wanna learn as I go, and watching these videos has shown me how to go about fixing any sort of issues that may come up while taking things apart. When doing some prepwork, don't forget to tack cloth it as well. That will pick up some dirt nibs and stuff like that. I've been watching motion auto tv for painting basics.

bit late to the party but how did u make it look so hard getting that nut off? socket and breaker bar does it 1st time, done it loads, just need to use some muscle :P

I snapped a breaker bar a few weeks earlier on a stuck bolt. When things haven't been removed in a while, there can be a lot of corrosion or rust that binds things up. The last thing I wanted to do was break something. In this case, I had the breaker bar flexing hard enough and the suspension compressing hard enough that I wasn't willing to put more pressure on it. I was far above the torque the axle nut is supposed to be at, so I knew that it was too corroded or pinched to work correctly. Hopefully that makes sense!
