BF is determined to destroy NASCAR as it was once known, I love 30 min from Rockingham and been to many races back in the day including this one and it just breaks my heart just to drive by it seeing it rot away like many other classic tracks, the Rock was a driver's track, listen to DW talk about it before the race, drivers loved coming here because you had to drive, put some lights up and give us just one race a yyear I guarantee it would sell out the first races..

Before this race started, I figured this would appropriately mark the final time they did the silent 'Lap 3' salute for The Intimidator. Of course, they did do it again in 2011 and 2021 on the 10th and 20th anniversaries of his death respectively, and I'm sure they'll do it again at Daytona in 2031.

Marlin and Labonte thought the caution was coming out in the closing laps and Kenseth stayed in the throttle, allowing him to catch them. If it wasn’t for NASCAR not throwing the caution sooner for some reason, Marlin probably wins.

It's funny they were picking Tony Stewart when Tony never really ran too well at the Rock, here and Darlington just never suited Tony's style. Tony was not a patient driver and he was so used to short track racing and dirt racing where all you do is attack and make moves for yourself, there is no management or conservation and even Tony said himself at Kansas one year, I hate racing like this and still won the thing on fumes. At places like Rockingham and Darlington it requires patience and it rewards drivers who are patient and can finesse the car.
