You sir are a life saver!!! I have a 2002 GMC Envoy. I had lost the following: Rear door didn't lock, rear wipers didn't work, no retained accessory power for my windows and radio, cruise control did not work, interior light timer and keyless entry did not work either. I have spent over $400 and a year of trying different things to fix this problem. I bought a new body control module and paid to have it programmed, also bought a rear liftgate module. Nothing worked. I was ready to give up and live without all of these features. I have found KZbin videos that alluded to those wires being bad but I just couldn't believe it. It's hard to believe that little orange wire that goes through the boot from the interior to the rear hatch caused so much damage. When I accidentally came across your title "key fob, liftgate not working fix", I clicked on it and there it was laid out with perfect video of the problem. I opened my rear hatch, pulled back the boot, tugged on the orange wire and out it came. My heart started racing 100 miles an hour. I KNEW that was the problem. I found a piece of 18 guage wire, taped it to a tie wrap and used spray on silicone to feed the piece of wire through the boot. I the crimped it together on both ends and tried everything and it all worked like it's supposed to. You have made my day! Thanks a million!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, I have been working on the key fob not working for months. When the whole back electrical stopped working (wipers, washers, rear defogger) I found your video. Both the larger and smaller orange electrical wires were broken on my 2002 Bravada. All back and working. I used a small piece of 1/8inch copper tubing sprayed with silicone as a runner to get the wires through the rubber flex cover.

great diagnosis and video. For me, the black wire was the culprit and resulted in no rear wiper/washer or key FOB operation of rear hatch

I love you! You’re awesome. All of a sudden if all your key fobs were working then zip. Its this fix 100%. Mine was the blue wire that snapped. Try to pull gently but first remove the lower rubber gasket off and look to see if you see any of the wires broken if it is at the top of the deck lid underneath that rubber gasket, then try not to pull the remaining wire out of the gasket upper and lower part. It’s a real bitch to get a wired to feed through there, it’s very narrow.. Either way I did it and it worked perfectly. Everything‘s back to normal again and yes, it was a broken wire. Thank you for everything.

This video was very helpful I found out that the black wire and green wire were cut thank you for making this video. Also do you know if the wires control different things or do they all control the same stuff. My rear windshield wiper dont work my key fob don’t work and the license plate light doesn’t work.
