Really good MPG. Having a manual does help slightly. I love driving my birds, but I enjoy my 3 mile drive to work. You must really like your job!

After I competed my trades course in the military in 2007 I bought my very first Firebird. I had so much fun in that car . It was a V6 . Unfortunately I was too intimidated at that time to work on the car and it reached a point where I couldn’t safely drive it. I ended up selling it and it’s one of my biggest regrets. I miss reving that car and driving like a madman . Great video

lol, one of the big reasons I havent cammed my LS1 yet. I may do the v6 soon though since I have to do the intake gaskets anyway.

Good video, thanks for making it! I'm really considering getting a 98-02 V6 Firebird soon. I'm just not sure if I should do it this summer it wait a few years after the economy and supply chain gets back to normal. Maybe low milage Firebirds won't be over $10k...

Thanks so much for this video. I am working on a 99 bird and actually a very dependable car. Only problem I have currently is after I replaced struts and springs my camber is off and seems no one can fix it. Not bad but I don't like my steering wheel off center.
@CaptainThirdGen
@CaptainThirdGen 2 жыл бұрын
steering wheel being off center should be a toe issue, not a camber one. to get your steering wheel straight youll need an alignment, make sure to tell the shop you would like the wheel perfectly straight.

@@CaptainThirdGen ok I will try again but I took it to two places and one was Chevrolet dealer. I did put bilstein shocks and struts. I am trying to move to pure Michigan next year.

I am restoring my 2002 Pontiac Firebird with 3800 Series II V-6 and- 5-speed stick. The mechanics are all done except for the engine, bodywork and repaint in metallic burgundy red (factory color name is Maple Leaf Metallic). Car now has just over 200,000 miles on it and original engine is still running strong. I use it as my daily driver and take really good care of it. I want to rebuild the engine to factory spec and fully detail the engine compartment for show. What do you recommend to replace the sloppy looking original fuel injection lines? I want to use chrome stainless steel lines and brightwork.
@CaptainThirdGen
@CaptainThirdGen Жыл бұрын
i wouldnt be that particular. Id just use the stock fuel lines unless they are leaking

Man, today I missed out on purchasing two Firebirds. The first one I was gonna buy was a red 2002 W68 Firebird, one owner, 48,382 miles, black leather interior, always kept in a garage, the taillights were flawless, sold for $11k. Then I called about a red 1999 W68 Firebird closer to me with 78,000 miles, sold today for $13k. What a day 😕

@@johnludan7133 I actually found a 98 W68 Y87 Firebird at the end of July. Was in amazing condition. Even has gray leather that looks new. Not a spot of rust on or under it. The guy I bought it from kept in a climate controlled garage for 20+ years.

Did you consider that your car will register it went more miles or less miles given your odometer will not be accurate and miles given you have larger tires

At most, running premium in a car made for regular, it'll just clean injectors and fuel lines a little bit more as there's more detergents in premium.
