Hey i enjoyed it "blinky, thingy, shit and all". was a GM tech/mechanic whatever its called now; for 25 years. sometimes simple generic terms are best. Again, Thanks, KCK

Thnx bro. Mine just keeps clicking even after shutting it off. It drives me insane and I already tried to remove any dust, but it won't work. So I will try this also. Thank you, buddy👍❤

Thanks for the video. My blinkers just don't turn on. They light up whn I hit the hazards button, but not when the stalk switch is engaged.

I will attempt this with my 2005 Golf. I have to replace the blinker lever because one time it started smoking and left signal got stuck blinking. I hope u help me :)

I love working on cars, but I hate working on VW's. I now own a 2012 Hyundai Sonata and a 2012 Kia Soul and those two vehicles are super enjoyable to work on. Simple replacements are quick and easy! Headlights? no problem, takes 20 seconds. Tail lights? super easy.

Do not use a torx!!! It is a triple square! A torx will work, but it doesn't really fit correctly.

LMAO, it ain't no x3 square bro.. seriously check your shit. triple squares are like your door latch (on the door, not the door sill) or the bolts that hold the cv axle to the trans flanges..

As well as other locations I'd assume, but naw man, these are torx ;)

Side note: Dmitriy, wtf man, "blinker"? might be a regional thing but where I'm from it's the turn signal switch. We tell our girlfriends to go ask for "blinker fluid" because it sounds even dumber than turn signal fluid. Additional side note, I quit smoking and I've found myself stuck in a$$hole mode so I apologize to the both of you

I'm alright with that. I'm not a professional mechanic so I refer to things as "this thingy" and "that thingy". Somehow things get fixed. That's all I care about.

How about next time you show all the steps
@OSWCrosshair20024 жыл бұрын
Exactly what I was going to say, but then saw you already did. So irritating. Do not do the video if you are not going to show each step.

No video, but here's the wordy part of what's going down: 1) Disconnect battery 2) Loosen steering wheel adjustment lock and extend and raise the steering column as far as it'll go. 3) Rotate steering wheel so it's 90 deg to left or right to expose access hole for airbag clip 4) Get a flathead screwdriver and insert into the access hole with the handle part down and the tip up along the top of the access hole. You are feeling for a round bar (just like this video shows) and you want the blade to be above the bar so you can push down on it enough to let the spring-loaded tab to release and pop out. You don't have to get all silverback on it like some other videos do, just be calm, feel around for the spring, make sure where the bottom and the top is, then go to the top, and press down on the screwdriver shaft to release the tab on that side. 5) Repeat steps 3 & 4 for the other side 6) Unclip the airbag from the harness with a flathead screwdriver. Put the airbag someplace safe, facing UP. 7) Get your M12 triple square or T55, whatever, and back out the screw holding the steering wheel on. You should note/mark the center and orientation of the steering wheel for when you put things back together later. There's a line on the steering wheel, and there's a dot on the shaft to help you line things up if you don't want to Sharpie your car. 8) Put the bolt back on and screw it in a couple threads, and then work your steering wheel loose, then remove the whole thing. Unclip the harness connector that goes through the wheel to the top of the clock spring behind it. 9) The steering column covers are held in place by four small phillips head screws and a T25 on the bottom (behind the flip down lever for the column adjust). You don't need to take them off, just move the upper up and out of the way and the bottom down a few inches to give you access to some screws and clips 10) You should now be looking at the clock spring, which has a connector at the bottom left on the back. Remove the clock spring by using a flathead screwdriver to gently release the two clips at the top and I think one or two more at the bottom. Gently remove the clock spring. 11) The turn signal stalk and the wiper stalk are two halves of what you should be looking at now; There's a 4mm allen bolt (this video says a T25, so use whatever) that holds the stalks to the column. Unclip the four (4) connectors on the back side and slide out the stalks. To release and separate the two halves so you can replace whichever you need, stick a small flathead screwdriver into the of the tab slot shown in this video and gently move the handle to the center of whole assembly to push in the lock tab and separate the wiper stalk from the signal stalk. The wiper stalk is the side that will come out towards you. 12) Work your way backwards from here to put things back together. Don't forget to put a dab of Loctite blue on the screw before you secure the steering wheel to the column.
