I would definitely recommend in sets like this if you pull a fusion to be allowed polymerization and 1 copy each of the fusion materials especially if they are not in the set like the red eyes so we could potentially see some of these cool cards summoned

@@ich3730 It was arguably the first actual Fusion strategy since Thunder Dragon searches you out the 2 copies needed to make Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon and all you'd need is Polymerization in-hand. I honestly think just let them be used as Vanillas so they can be showcased. Black Skull Dragon is only slightly stronger than Blue-Eyes while all the others except maybe Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon are on par with the other 1 and 2 tribute lower rarity vanillas.

Electric Lizard stuns non-zombie monsters due to it being part of Bakura's deck, which contains a lot of demons and zombies, they just wanted to create a synergy with those monsters.

It kinda makes sense that Electric Lizard's ability excludes Zombie types, since you can't electrically stun dead things. Of course, you could spell out different effects for lots of other monster types, but you don't want to fill that whole box with text, do you? (Incidentally, I really miss when Yugioh monsters had this kind of individual flavor instead of being forced into archetypal mechanics or loaded with arbitrary immunities and search effects. If nothing else, it made it easier to remember how they worked.)

Metal Raiders is my favourite classic set - so many memorable cards. One of my first decks had Flame Cerebrus, while my brother used Launched Spider. Seeing them used again was so fun. I like these draft style duels.

For the editor that did the ATK 2200 - ATK 1500 = 700, they actually did it right because of the equip card adding 500, so it was 2200 - 2000 = 200

My guess on electric lizard, is that a zombie wouldn't feel electrical shocks on nerves and stuff if they don't feel pain? Like you couldn't paralyze them like other types.

Honestly i dont understand the people complaining about the game becoming ,,too complicated,, i started playing again after 4-5 years and i was ten and just watched the show did not understand anything so last year was my official start and then i played once i understood i had fun the game isnt as complicated also if you really are bored make a new deck thats it dont follow meta and a make a rogue one i started playing pend bc it was fun then went rda bc i found supernova op and this was before rda became somewhat meta on md and people didn’t know how to react and quit games cause i kept nuking em but what i want to say is nostalgia is blinding you me who is new ti everything but fusion and came off the show found this insane amount of summoning fun because its easily punishable( except on synchron but they deserve it an anime deck being strong was expected) and for those who quit bc long text dude its thre four sentences i mean did you ever read an actual book or did you stop because it had too many words ? Also pend does not deserve hate as konami keeps ignoring us and hitting some of our cards

idk man, as much as i love diving into the nostalgia, for me its the exact opposite. Atleast the modern game has a unique identity separate from the rest of the industry. Oldschool yugioh is just watered down magic the gathering with horrendous balancing.

Video Idea: All YuGiOh characters' names on the wheel and whoever spin the wheel and land on a certain character, you will have all access to character's deck. Say if Paul got Mai Valentine, Paul got all Mai's decks he can work with to face his opponent. If both players got the same character in the wheel, they can work something out in the deck. For example: Paul and Alec got Yugi Muto, Paul can use Dark Magician Deck and Alec can use Silent Swordsman Deck.

So glad the channel is going back to the first days of yugioh! The rare hunters series is always great fun to watch a few times a year. I would say 100% definitely use polymerization and the proper fusion materials needed to make whatever fusion cards are pulled. This would make the duels even more fun than they already are!

Hello, back around 2003-2005, I used to watch Yugioh when I got home from work because there was nothing else on at that time. I ended up liking it and had no idea that it was an actual game. Years later around 2019 I got my son and daughter to start watching the show and they started collecting cards. They would play each other, but I don’t think they were playing it the correct way . My son is now 17 and he still collects the cards. I have him for the month of July. Can you recommend a video on KZbin, so that I can learn to play? I think it is something that we will both enjoy.

HardLeg Gaming's youtube playlist of tutorials (Dark Hole elementary, Skill Drain high, Upstart Goblin university) is a pretty good starting place in terms of explaining things well. It's almost a decade old tho now, so it doesn't cover everything. For future reference, some things that have been added/changed since then are: -link monsters were added -pendulum monsters work somewhat differently (worse) -the field layout itself has changed somewhat (some zones have been added and/or moved) -there have been various changes to some of the more in-depth rules that don't come up as often

The reason electric lizard wouldn't stop a zombie is because Frankenstein's monster was given life by lightning. For that same reason flesh golems in D&D get powered up when dealt lightning damage.

Man this took me back. My very first pack of Yugioh cards was Metal Raiders. I still remember what was in it. Strongest monster I pulled was Roaring Ocean Snake at 2100 ATK, and of course as a kid with nothing better to compare, I thought he was the coolest thing. Good times.

They battle opponents for the rarest card/cards and those people have spent time and money buying packs/boxes of cards to get said rare card. All revolving around a physical card/cards in there world

I was with Yugioh all the way before the starter decks and packs even hit the US streets. My first pack was Japanese Pharoahs Servant, which I picked up at a card shop and I still have. I remember MR really started to expand what we could with decks outside the predictable starter decks, and Magic Ruler/Spell Ruler again upped the deck building. This is total nostalgia for an OG player and collector like me, lol. Thanks for taking me back 20 years lol.

From my understanding electric lizard references zombies like Frankenstein’s monster that got reanimated from the dead by electricity. With this logic, electricity only empowers zombies, not stuns them as with living creatures. Though I’m not sure why thunder monsters aren’t also unaffected

I think electric lizard was one of those odd crossover cards from when they wanted the game to feel like the manga while also having zero clue what kind of balancing they would put into the game. Flavor wise, it makes sense for a Zombie to be immune to paralysis.

This was my favorite set for....ever? It felt like the first actual YGO set, considering Legend of the Blue Eyes was 95% normal monsters only non-named Duelist Kingdom players would use. My first pack of Metalraiders scored me a Pumpking, and it wasn't even the rare! The whole world suddenly opened up, you could actually make a good deck without a premade!

I pulled a copy of Tribute to the Doomed from some booster pack when I was in elementary school. Unfortunately, I think copy might have a common … 😅. I also pulled Armoured Zombie and a Secret Rare Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon from a Spell Ruler pack. That was the first Secret Rare I ever pulled.

Perhaps, thinking medical wise, Electric Lizard’s effect is worded that way due to the use of AEDs. Since they shock someone’s heart back into rhythm, Zombies are already dead so with that knowledge in mind it makes sense! Probably not the real reason lol but something that came to mind!

I loved Metal Raiders. I fell in love with Shadow Ghoul and he was my Ace Monster. I modeled my deck after Rebecca Hawkins when I saw that episode. I had Sangan, Cannon Soldier, Witch of the Black Forest. All the cards that really defined the early game for me were from Metal Raiders. Shadow Ghoul may never have been a top tier card but he will always be my favorite monster. I no longer play but I have him framed with my other favorite cards.

I think the idea with electric lizard is that zombies are dead, so electricity won't stun them, but that's not entirely true (granted that zombies existing would have to defy some laws of biology anyway, so who's to say). They used to do those kinds of exclusions for flavor, like paralyzing potion and the bacteria equip spell not affecting machines, but they stopped doing that real soon since it was so clunky and didn't change anything about the game overall

More theme deck duel ideas especially with modern support: toons, spirits, union monsters (mainly from older DM/GX sets), exodia; I think it would be cool to see you guys try to highlight these which all had such prevalence in the anime

Using the fake cards you have divide them up and then try to make a deck using the real counter parts to the fakes, but here are the catches: 1) you can use the fakes, but the opponent may challenge if it is a real or fake card. If it is called and confirmed a fake the player of the fake card must legally use the real card and take 100 points of damage. 2) if the challengef card is called incorrect the challenge caller takes 100 points of damage. 3) 60 card decks, 15 for side and extra, BUT 20 cards to sub out fakes and reals as another side board.

Just a suggestion that I thought might help out a bit, maybe allow 10-15 cards to be added from outside the set to make a 40 card deck and add some consistency, I'd make a caviot to that in the form of no super meta or mega broken cards so it's still mainly centered on the set at its core but slightly vamped/modernized

Hey if you have been playing Sacred Cards u should try to get a hold of a copy of Stairway to the Destined Duel. The duel sim is a bit faster which greatly improves the flow of the game and has a slightly better card pool. I played the crap out of it growing up

Heck yea metal raiders! Black skull dragon is one of my favorites I used to play with goddess of the third eye and chaos sorcerer for a cool fusion deck that can also make chaos monsters. I never did get that black luster soldier envoy of the beginning I wanted, though
