there's not too many video tutorials for replacement of rear engine mount for Honda accords so I thought I'd share me & my husband's experience: he was hvng very difficult time removing old rear mount until he loosened front mount (took out top bolt only). there is a part on the rear mount that protrudes out and has a groove in the car for which is used to catch or cradle the mount once it's properly aligned. This was the only way he could get the rear mount out. Hope this helps someone since it took us forever to figure out how to do this.

correction: groove is in engine bracket that accommodates that part that sticks out from replacement rear mount.

Is This because you can get the exhaust cover off???

Can you do it without removing the heat shield?

These days all car makes are junk and well before 100k miles your gonna need these repairs,which is best shown as its actually being done words and explaining are one thing but actually seeing is entirely different 👌

Clintathusaz, my Honda Accord 2004 gives out a clung sound whenever I shift the car from park to drive or from park to reverse, but if I let the engine run for a while at a lower RPM like around 750 the clung sound is less harsh. I have inspected the three engine mounts and they all look ok. The transmission mounts all look ok too. Any idea what may cause the clunking sound of shifting from anyone????? My Honda 2004 has only 105K and I am running into issues. I have also replaced the AC belt tensioner because if was making sounds and the pulley ballbearing has a good amount of play in it.

hello, did the rear mount have the vacuum pin and did you connect the hose ? i know the front mount has one, right?
@daviderhahon3 жыл бұрын
For the 7th gen, 4-cylinder Accords, only the front mounts have a vacuum tube connected. Other mounts don't; they are solid rubber. For the 7th gen, 6-cylinder Accords, the front and rear mounts have vacuum tubes connected to them. Hope this helps.

Excellent explanation. Question, from my understanding, both front and rear mounts for 2003-2007 honda accord looks exactly the same or am I wrong?

Thanks! The mounts look similar but are actually different.

Do you remember if the last bolt that goes horizontally to the floor was using a nut at the other end??
@clintathusaz8 жыл бұрын
+Ya Va No, I'm 99% sure that there was no nut, and that the bolt threaded into the engine block itself.

+Joel S Yes! I thought for a long time I had an idle issue and that I was too low or something. After swapping out the engine mount problem was solved. Hopefully that's the same issue you have!

The Campbells Not that I noticed. It was mostly just a lot of vibration at idle.

Hi I need a impact or no ? I try but it’s too hard and I need the tools of do you use please and thank u
@Backstretch16 жыл бұрын
sergio silva You don't need an impact gun and it probably wouldn't do you any good. I first tried to get the bolts off my 2003 Accord using a gun and they wouldn't budge. They were ridiculously tight. You really need a breaker bar (the longer the better), a few extensions, and 1 or 2 wobble or u-joint connectors. The black impact type are best since they are harder and flex less. If you don't have a breaker bar and don't care about possibly damaging your ratchet, you might be able to break the bolts free by inserting the ratchet handle into a sturdy metal pipe for leverage. It also helps to first spray some penetrating oil on the bolts and let them soak for a few minutes.

Thanks for the nice video. I think it is difficult to reach the rear mount if I am working from front of the vehicle. Do I need to work from side or need to use a ladder or something similar so that I have easy access to work on the rear mount?
