Our 2004 has 242K just had the transmission rebuilt, it has been very reliable, The engine still runs smooth as it did the day it came from the factory

Ours is great too. I purposely looked for a 03-04 expedition for the 2 valve 5.4, it’s a great vehicle.

Great video. My 03 has 317,000. Still runs strong! Im gonna try and get at least 500,000 miles out of it!

This video is short and sweet, but I wonder how tight should an oil filter should be? Other than that nice video.
@ChrisThedudenurse2 жыл бұрын
I only do as hand tight as I can. You can get a wrench up there but I’ve found it’s not really worth it.

Its much easier to take the air filter off and access the oil filter from the engine bay rather than under the vehicle.
@ChrisThedudenurse4 ай бұрын
I’d try that if I still had the truck

It's much easier and faster to remove the oil filter from underneath as designed. The problem is people not getting the fact that oil filters should be snug and then 25% of a turn MAX. I've never had an oil filter leak and can clean the housing and remove it by hand. I had to use a pinch claw ratched oil filter tool the other day and needed 80% of a turn to budge it with my hand. I started the truck and let it run for 20 min and not a single leak. It was some white Chinese filter that looked like the worst oil filter on earth. Next up was the drain plug which needed a 1/2" drive 24 inch ratchet and 16mm impact socket. I originally tried a simple 14" 16mm combination wrench and grabbed the tire and it wouldn't budge. Just use a new crush washer and torque 15 ftlb by memory. I can't believe that aluminum oil pan wasn't cracked. Going from the top will cause vaccum leaks.

Fram oil filter= Garbage.
@ChrisThedudenurse2 жыл бұрын
Yeah but it has the rubber grip on it. Anything else is a lot more difficult to get on up there.

The new fram exclusively for Walmart is a beast. It addresses all the things people cry about in every oil filter. It's bigger and heavier than the best mobile, puralator, stp, kn, ect.

@@jaygold4467 I just finished installing monroe matic plus struts and shocks. The welds were sloppier than any in an entire harborfreight. There were parts of the shock that didn't get sprayed blue and visible rust, I cringed when I seen Made in the U.S.A. Still way better than brand new OEM's that are made in china but that's the manufacturers specs that the aftermarket is following.
