Good job bro it's hard to find anything on for information the 01-03 cl. I usually use the dealer diagrams so I don't have but a shop manual for everything

Which lubricant did you spray on the solenoid?

Stephanie Hernandez I used a regular can of carb cleaner. You can also use a spray can cleaner suited for electronic sensors.

My 01 does the same thing but at 3500 rpm. Though it will happen at random so I shift it manually till it goes back to working again.

@@rumaakter9393 I’ve since then sold the car but strangely right before I did the valve went back to working again. One fix I did see for a fix is that in the oil filter housing also houses the Vtec oil pressure sensor?? Though in that housing there should be either one or two little screens or one depending on the model. You can drain the oil out, take off that little housing and in that either replace those screens which filter out the dirt from the oil and the O rings that’s in there while you have it apart. Also from what I’ve found out was that if the oil is just a little bit low the system won’t activate for safety?!? H ha ha. Oh well. Also test the solenoid while you’re down there. It’s a simple fix and cheap enough if that oil pressure solenoid is stuck.

The 10 dollars the main gasket cost is cheap ,to avoid dealing with that fastener .Much easier to deal with once the whole unit is removed from the block.

Dont ever drive them like that for them to last i have one 268,000 and still going everything original besides o rings you cant even hear it run from driving it like a grandmomma trust me they last forever
