I would be looking for air/vacuum leaks if you know know sure the iac is good and it's getting the proper power and grounds it needs

I have a 2001 CL Type S and it’s revving up and down like in your description. I’ve followed your video and replaced the IACV. Bought it brand new and installed and once I started the car, about 5 minutes later it started revving up and down again but no check engine light or anything. Ran the scanner and it said P0505. Any recommendations why it’s still revving up and down? Or is there something else you suggest I should try to fix this? Thanks.

I would start checking the wiring and circuit and make sure there's not a wiring issue or reference issue

thanks for the vid. my 2000 acura 3.2 TL is surging when idle. What happens if you don't fix this? is it safe to drive? Thanks a lot

Not really hurting anything but it may eventually lead to not wanting to idle at all and it will raise fuel mileage etc.

mine was stalling, replaced the valve now its surging. no codes

I have 2000 Acura CL and it does it bad. There is only random misfire code and nothing else. that makes me think there's something clogged on or around the Throttle body.

I would also look at possibly a valve adjustment if you have random misfire code and nothing else on a Honda.

@@HooptiesGarage Thanks. I started taking it apart and the ports are all dirty, car was sitting for many years and rats were living in it... customer just told me this when I pointed out ripped wires and saw lots of rat poo. gonna be a long one

@@gerardomorales4078 i wish. Once I did that, it ran better, for a little... like a little.. then saw wires ripped and all. Customer decided to just junk it..

@@TheLifeOfMartin haha, ouch. I just bought an 02 MDX in Puerto Rico and it's surging with a click prior to warming up. Been seeing to remove the IAC to test but some of these wires/cables look ready to disintegrate. Want to have all of my contingencies in place because I can't afford to be left with a paperweight for another 2 months.

Do you need to do idle relearn?

If you have a scan tool that will perform that procedure you can but it will adjust itself over a short time
