Causes and Fixes P0505 Code: Idle Control System

How to fix a P0505 engine code: Idle Control System.
A P0505 code is set when the computer detects the engine RPMs at Idle are erratic.
An Idle Air Control (IAC) valve is controlled by the computer and allows air to bypass the throttle body butterfly.
Some newer vehicles can use an electronic Throttle Actuator System (ETC), which controls the throttle plate butterfly.
After cleaning or replacing throttle body parts, the engine may need an Idle Relearn Procedure.
Possible Causes of a P0505 Code
Dirty Throttle Body
Faulty Idle Air Control Valve (IAC)
Wiring
Vacuum leak

I had this same problem with the Camry, cleaned throttle body , changed iac, changed spark plugs but ultimately it was the spark plug wire that made it misfire

got this code on a 05 gs300. o’reilly scanner indicated idle control valve is the fix. thoughts?

Just bough one and it has the same issue I check the sensor under the throttle body and it was unplugged so I got excited and plugged it up and started the truck and the idle went up to 2k rpm’s the sensor looks shiny new any idea what could cause it to be higher when plugged in vs unplugged
