2003 Dodge Ram dash removal and dash top replacement

In this video I remove the dash and show how to change the top on a 03 Dodge Ram.
I attribute my successes to god and give him the glory.

Thanks for the vid, it helped a lot! I didn’t pull the dash all the way out I was just replacing the top. Was able to pull it off about 4/5 inches and I was able to get to the screws underneath the topper holding onto the defrost vents. 👍 Dropping the steering column gave me anxiety tho 😂

I pulled the dash out of our 2015 Taurus a couple of weeks ago to get to a stuck blend door. I will never, ever, ever do that again. Great video, thanks for sharing!

It’s funny how some come out easy and some need the windshield removed to get them out. It would be nice if the engineers planed ahead for repairs.

Cool video man...... Yeah I've had to do that job to replace the evaporater and while I was at it I replaced the heater core with a cheap Chinese knock off Spectra special. So I'm doing it again,this time with a Mopar heater core. Damn thing started leaking after 1 year and ruined the carpet.

I have another video I haven’t posted yet taking out the heater box. I changed the heater core and all the blend doors to the blend door USA aluminum doors. I left the evaporator original and replaced the heater core. I got the mopar one and I have to say it doesn’t look like anything special. It’s kinda cheap looking.

Great video! Can you tell me what the secret is to disconnecting the big harness plug behind the passenger side kick panel? It has a simple looking depress tab but it also has 2 red sliders on the opposite end. Giving me a hard time and I don't want to break it. Thanks again.

I don’t really remember how I got that plug apart. A lot of the time I will use a pick and slide it down the little release lever and twist it to push down on the hook or lift the latch on the plug depending on what style plug it is. I find it makes it easier then trying to push down on the lever at the back of the connector. I probably pushed the pick in one and got the other ones. Make sure the locks are up. I almost remember having a hard time with that one but it was so long ago I can’t remember what I did.

so i just change out my dash in my 03 to one out of a 05 same i use the wire out of the 05 and now i cant get power to some stuff then it will so thank i have to use the 03 wires

That should be a great deal of help for anyone doing this themselves. I always found interior repairs a pain, even with shop manuals which many times are useless in these situations. The manufacturers do a great job hiding stuff. Have a great Christmas.

It only took a few days to take it down to a frame but I’ve had to do a lot of replacing parts I didn’t want to put back on because they either leaked, were worn out, or rusted. Soooooo it should be a new truck soon. 😂
