In the video, the smoke test shows the EGR leaking. That’s how I knew it was the bad part

I own a 2001 expedition….and I redid the lights and tail lights and now the drivers door window not moving down that rabbit hole I go. …hoping it’s a relay instead of the window motor. Doors are a pita

Haha yea, doors are a pain. You should be able to pull the window buttons out and back probe them to see if they have and are suppling power to the motor before the whole door has to come apart, never a fun job lol good luck

It can be a lot of things, most I’ve felt with are ruff idle and run ok while driving. Do you have a code?

EGR valves fail on every vehicle, you can use the same method to test on any vehicle that uses exhaust gas recirculation which would be any vehicle 2000 ish and newer

What he didn't show was that he took the hose coming out of the paint can, and connected the other end to a vacuum port on the engine. From the position of the hose, it looks like he connected it to the brake booster port vacuum hose (see 0:52 seconds). He then lights a Black & Mild cigar, and then connects the lit smoking cigar to the other end of the hose inside the can, and seals the can. He then pressurizes the can with 5-10 psi air from a compressor. The air pressure keeps the cigar lit and making lots of smoke. The smoke then fills the intake, and then comes out wherever there is a leak, in this case, the EGR valve. Hope that helps.

No those codes simply mean your getting in un-monitored air in the system that the vehicle isn’t calculating to add more fuel for. That is why it’s important to use the method of troubleshooting I did, to find out where the air is getting in on your vehicle, but it can also be a electrical fault from a sensor fail. Mine just happened to be a bad EGR valve
