2003 Honda Accord Brake Light Bulb (Rear) Replacement

This video is a tutorial for replacing a burnt out brake light on the 7th generation Accord (2003-2007 model years). Never replace bulbs without latex gloves because the oils from your fingers will cause them to fail prematurely! Good Video!

Im assuming its simliar for a 2002 Honda Accord? Do you need to disconnect the battery so you dont die?

Sorry for the late reply! Been off for some months. Answer is "no", battery disconnect not needed. Firstly, you won't want anyone stomping the brakes anyway while you work and that's what energizes that particular circuit. Second and most important, you shouldn't be in contact with the conducting terminals as you're mainly handling the bulb and snapping it into the socket.

So I used a Sylvania 7440, but you'll want to use your car specs (i.e. trim, 2 or 4-door, etc.) and search based on that. You could do a online search on Amazon, Advance Auto Parts, Autozone. Or even stop into an auto parts store (or Honda dealer) and have them look it up. Hope that helps!

I used a Sylvania 7440. Since many auto parts store carry different brands (with different bulb designations), I'd recommend entering your car info on their web site and then do a search from brake light bulb. Sites like Autozone or Advance Auto Parts will usually show whether the bulb on the list is a fit for your car model. Alternatively, you can always ask the auto parts counter staff to look it up for you.
