2003 Honda Accord cabin air filter replacement

Wanted to make and share a video about replacing the cabin air filter on a 2003 Accord. Real simple DIY job and makes a huge difference to getting good air when using the A/C or heater. Steps apply to all the 7th gen Accords (2003-2008 model years), and likely works on other generation Accords and other Honda models. In fact, I did almost the same thing for my Odyssey and that's a video I'll be posting soon. (PS: A feedback I got reminded me to add this - the plastic bracket the air filter sits in has slits at the side that is meant for the hard edge of the filter to drop into. Do align the air filter so that the hard edge slides into that slit, should be a pretty easy fit.)

Happy to be of some help, cool how small things like this can help bring some of the "new"-ness back to an car that has some years on it, doesn't it? Say change out a couple of burnt out bulbs, get worn out stuff replaced and boom, you have a leg up over that BMW that passed by with a busted tail-light. :)

Thank you for your video this will save me some $$ I just got out all the tiny leaves from my filter, vacuumed it and sprayed it out with a compresser. I know I need to get a new filter soon but this works for now. Thanks! Now I can do it on my own!

:) Just great things to do to make the drive experience better that I wouldn't do a lot if I had to pay a repair shop $50-$80 each time. So I change my own oil and just to know what's going on at oil change places, I asked a quick-lube place what they charge for synthetic oil - quoted me $100!! Synthetic 0W-20 costs barely a few $ more than conventional...

So glad to hear it helped, means a great deal and why I loved making this tutorial. Arm & Hammer makes a filter with baking soda, and it worked with smells initially but the odor control doesn't last (1-2 months tops?). Turning on A/C was the only long-term "fix", likely because the A/C also dries out the air which means less ability for the air to pickup smells.

You did not make sure that the single pleat each end was properly positioned over the inner fin segments on 2 sides of the holder.. (you might have to examine the filter and tray to figure out what I mean)... sorry I can't work out a simpler way to put it...

If it's anything like house furnace filters then yes, you can by premium filters that filter out smaller particles like bacteria and viruses. Obviously fresh air is most effective...
