Thanks to you, I replaced mine in 4 minutes. But....I started the car, and bad smell is coming from it.- How is this possible?? I just changed the damn cabin air filter for a brand new one!! grrrrr
@theharthomeautorepairtipsc58742 жыл бұрын
So glad to hear it helped, means a great deal and why I loved making this tutorial. Arm & Hammer makes a filter with baking soda, and it worked with smells initially but the odor control doesn't last (1-2 months tops?). Turning on A/C was the only long-term "fix", likely because the A/C also dries out the air which means less ability for the air to pickup smells.

Thanks for this video, I wasn’t even aware I had a light there (which was blown out). I replaced it and noticed it’s always on when the headlights are on regardless of if the glove box is open or closed. Is this normal? Isn’t there a micro-switch somewhere to keep it off if the lid is closed?

Happy to be of some help, cool how small things like this can help bring some of the "new"-ness back to an car that has some years on it, doesn't it? Say change out a couple of burnt out bulbs, get worn out stuff replaced and boom, you have a leg up over that BMW that passed by with a busted tail-light. :)

Do the bulbs have two filaments in them? When I open my 2007 Accord's doors, this bulb does not turn on automatically, but if I press the lens cover manually, it turns on. If I press it again while the doors are open, it stays on like it's supposed to. Great video, btw!
@gswizzle37142 жыл бұрын
There is a switch in the middle of the unit. When it is to the right, it does not turn on with the doors open, it only turns on manually. With the switch to the left it turns on with the doors open.
@mrau92me2 жыл бұрын
@@gswizzle3714 Thanks for the reply, but that switch is in the correct position. If it wasn't, the light wouldn't stay on after I press the lens cover switch again while the doors are open.

You did not make sure that the single pleat each end was properly positioned over the inner fin segments on 2 sides of the holder.. (you might have to examine the filter and tray to figure out what I mean)... sorry I can't work out a simpler way to put it...
