2003 Honda Civic Door Lock Actuator Repair - Door won't unlock or open.

I don't show you how to remove or install the door actuator, but I show you what I found wrong with mine on my passenger door. There is a spot in the video where I talk about the frequency, but I mean to say time. I wanted to know the time of the voltage pulse. I had a brain dead moment and could have opened up my timebase on my scope to find this. I wanted to have it show in the section of the scope where the peak-peak was displayed, but it wouldn't show it. It must have been too quick for my scope to display it. I hope this video helps you and saves you some money as it did me.

Nice vid. I would just like to ask any tips on splitting the two halves apart? It sure did looked like you used a blade at one point but did you digged or cut through the plastic? Any tips would be great. Im planning to do this as well to check if my the spring on mine is broken as well. Thank you.

If I remember correctly, I used a blade to cut along the edge enough to make sure it broke along the two halves when I used a small screw driver to pry it apart. Mine just had spots of glue along the edge that held it together. Just take your time and score the edge and pry lightly. Good luck.

I was not able to open the door from the outside or the inside with this broken spring( or the key fob). It took quite a bit of messing around before I was able to get the door open to be able to work on it.
